While the comics are gearing up to for this major change within the X-universe, Marvel has also released a brand-new documentary series titled X-Men: The Seminal Moments. The series, available on Marvel.com and through Marvel's social media channels, chronicles the biggest events in X-Men history, starting from the beginning of the series all the way to the modern age.
From today until the end of May, Marvel will release the four-episode series online. Each episode covers another event that shaped the course of the Merry Mutants as we know it, covering events such as Giant-Size X-Men, X-Men #1 (1991), Age of Apocalypse and New X-Men. In the series, both longtime and more recent X-Men fans alike take an introspective look at the series, characters and stories as a whole, talking about what each event meant to the world of mutants.
In addition to fan response, each short will showcase a creator from Marvel's past, including legendary talents like Adam Kubert, Chris Claremont, Larry Hama, Jonathan Hickman, Al Ewing and more, with each of them reflecting on the X-Men and what they mean to Marvel. Claremont, of course, is the writer who ushered the X-Men into a new era with stories like The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. Hickman, on the other hand, is the man responsible for the aforementioned House of X and Powers of X.
The release schedule is as follows:
