10 Thermos Kills Everything For Nothing

Earth-9047, better known as the Humorverse, is where Marvel pokes fun at itself in their What The--?! comics, and it's also where Thermos, master of space, time and barbeque sauce, resides. Thermos has fallen for Death, and to impress her, uses his Infinity Mitten to wipe out half of the Humorverse.

In doing so he draws the attention of and then squares off against the remaining superheroes, using the Infinity Mitten to wipe out the remaining Marble Universe. At the end of the story, we find Death had already found a new boyfriend, someone from the video game business who had killed off the entire comic book industry - sorry Thermos.

9 Norman Osborn Time Loop

During 1973's The Amazing Spider-Man #121 and 122, the Green Goblin kidnaps Spiderman's girlfriend Gwen Stacy and throws her off the Brooklyn Bridge. In an attempt to save her, Spidey ends up being the cause of her death when his webbing gave her whiplash. It was a no-win situation for Peter Parker but over time all wounds heal.

That is until someone gets an Infinity Gauntlet. 2015's What If Infinity - Dark Reign's Norman Osborn, better known as the Green Goblin, uses the gauntlet to bring his father back to life and create a Dark Avengers group who then viciously kills The Avengers, however, that wasn't the worse of it.

Osborn uses the Gauntlet to force Peter Parker to relive that faithful night on the Brooklyn Bridge - over and over again. If Green Goblin concept art wasn't enough to put fear into Spidey's heart, having to relieve Gwin's death on repeat should have been enough to break him.

8 Nebula, An Undead Monument To Death

In the first issue of 1991's The Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos, unable to swoon Mistress Death, builds a large shrine in her honor. Inside of the shrine, a pair of thrones, for Death and Thanos, but also Nebula, his alleged grand-daughter.

However, Nebula is changed because of Thanos, she is now wrangled, mutilated and burnt, existing right on the edge between life and death, considered his greatest creation. Thanos calls her "a living tribute to the blasphemy of life and the glorious promise of death," and it's still not enough to win the admiration of Mistress Death.

7 Snap

In 1990, Silver Suffer volume 3, issue number 34, Silver Suffer learns about Thanos' plot to rid the universe of half it's living population, at the heed of Mistress Death. During this time, Thanos learns that the Infinity Stones he had used before have powers greater than he ever imagined.

This lead up to 1991's The Infinity Gauntlet where in one moment, with a snap, he voids the half the living things in the universe. In 2018's Avengers: Infinity War the snap is a built-up moment, Avengers trying to keep Thanos from doing it, however in the '91 comic, it just happens and more than anything else, it's for the love of Mistress Death.

6 The Birth Of Pure Good

Adam Warlock, one of Marvel's most powerful characters, took the Infinity Gauntlet, in 1993's The Infinity Crusade, and to keep himself from being corrupted by its power, uses it to become fully logical. He did it by removing the good and bad aspects of himself. In doing so he creates Goddess whose first plan is ridding the universe of all evil. She begins by creating a new planet, Paradise Omega, and protects it with brainwashed superheroes from Earth.

While fighting with Warlock and Thanos she begins to understand that while freewill exists, evil will continue, and tries to rewrite existence in a snap-like moment, however, she is stopped and defeated by Thanos, Warlock, and Professor Xavier. By using the Infinity Gauntlet to make himself more logical, Adam Warlock nearly ends all life.

5 Magus And The Marvel Rejects

Marvel Comics' Magus with the Infinity Gauntlet

During the time above, the evil parts of Warlock turn into Magus. Magus gets the gauntlet then uses it to create an evil six-armed Spider-Man, a spike-covered tentacle monster and other evil versions of Marvel heroes.

During his attempt at universal dominance, Magus' gauntlet turned out to have a fake Reality Gem which, in turn, opened his defenses up enough to be defeated. Even though Magus lost he did create a Henti version of Iron Man, and Stark is all hand-grab enough without suction cups.

4 Doomed Universe

In 2012, Doctor Doom teamed up with the Fantastic Four and The Future Foundation to save Earth from a Celestial attack. In doing so the International Council of Reed headquarters collapsed around him and he was presumed dead. This is a comic and no one ever stays dead. An issue later, Doctor Doom crawls out of the rubble and finds himself surrounded by dead multiverse Reed Richards, two of them having Infinity Gauntlets.

He uses his newfound power to release captured Doctor Dooms from other universes, creating the Parliament of Doom and then taking the universe by force, aptly named The Doomed Universe. The Fantastic Four and Future Foundation come along and take Doom out, but with the power of two gloves, Doctor Doom went from presumed dead to a universal leader of his own parliament.

3 It's Just One Of Those Days

Captain America Infinity Gauntlet

2013's New Avengers has Earths from alternate universes merging realities, which would destroy them both. The Avengers could either destroy one of the Earth's before the merge or find a way to reverse it.

Captain America dons the Infinity Gauntlet and begins to reverse the merge, slowing down the process, and in trying to reverse the merge all together, the power is too much and Captain America breaks the Infinity Gauntlet, destroying it, the Infinity Stones and any hope The Avengers had in stopping the universal merge.

2 The Near End Of Christmas

Santa Claus Infinity Gauntlet

In Marvel Holiday Spectacular 2009 Santa's reindeer turn out to be Skrull and it's up to Iron Man and the Illuminate, a group of superheroes consisting the likes of Professor Xavier, Doctor Strange, and Reed Richards, to find the best way to help Santa deliver gifts to all the good Gentile girls and the good Gentile boys. So, what is the best way to travel around the world, in one night? Maybe a S.H.I.E.L.D Quinjet or Helicarrier? Doctor Strange manipulating time and space? Stark-made robotic reindeer?

Nah, they just gave him the Infinity Gauntlet. Then, in true Infinity Gauntlet form, absolute power corrupts absolutely and Santa begins to fight. Things almost go south for Christmas, and children everywhere, until Namor steps in and throws a snowball with all of his might, knocking the gauntlet off Santa. Iron Man then decides that handing over the gauntlet was a bad idea and gives Santa those robotic reindeer mentioned earlier.

1 Absolutely Nothing

Infinity War - Gauntlet Thanos

2003's JLA/Avengers tells us what happens when DC and Marvel's universes merge. On one hand, you have the Justice League of America and Avengers working together, on the other hand, you have a cat and mouse game of capture the flag. The teams had to get ahold of twelve powerful items including the Green Lantern Power Battery, the Spear of Destiny, and the Infinity Gauntlet.

Tracking down the Infinity Gauntlet, the heroes are shocked to learn Darkseid, of all beings, is in possession of the gauntlet. Darkseid feels the power from inside the gems, knows the Avengers have gathered for the gauntlet, but its power is useless to him, or anyone in the universe, as the Infinity Gauntlet can only be used in the universe it comes from. Darkseid is left with a fancy glove, and there is nothing worst than the Infinity Gauntlet's absolute power be able to do absolutely nothing.
