The following contains major spoilers for X-Force #37, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Marvel's X-Force will likely have to fight a new mutant hybrid character who is part Wolverine, part Colossus and part Beast.

X-Force #37 comes from writer Benjamin Percy, artist Robert Gill, color artist Guru-eFX and letterer VC's Joe Caramagna. In the issue, X-Force is tracking the Man with the Peacock Tattoo, a mysterious villain who is leading an anti-mutant group called XENO. The beginning of the issue shows the Man with the Peacock Tattoo trying and failing to create a monstrous hybrid X-men creature out of a hacked resurrection egg within his secret base that appears to be located on Genosha.

While Deadpool, Omega Red and Domino all head to Genosha to investigate, the Man With the Peacock Tattoo reveals his true identity -- a clone of the Genegineer, leading the Man With the Peacock Tattoo to call himself "the legacy of the Genegineer" -- to a young clone of his named Max. While Max and the Man With the Peacock Tattoo get into a discussion about whether or not they're just "experiments," the issue ends with the Man With the Peacock Tattoo's new hybrid mutant fully coming to life.

Marvel Welcomes the Omni-Mutant to X-Force

Solicitation text for X-Force #38 (by Percy and Gill), which releases March 1, 2023, hints that this new hybrid character is called an omni-mutant. The synopsis reads, "XEfNO’S ENDGAME—THE OMNI-MUTANT! It’s all been leading to this—XENO’s showdown with X-FORCE, and the terrible truth of their horror-show experiments! WHO, or WHAT, is the OMNI-MUTANT?!"

Upcoming issues of X-Force will also welcome two new players onto the team, Wolverine/Laura Kinney and Colossus/Piotr Rasputin. Percy recently told CBR about their inclusion, "X-Force needs a Wolverine, and if Logan is walking away, they desperately need someone to take his place. The thing is, Laura isn't interested. The Chronicler and Mikhail are about to become a huge problem for Krakoa, and Colossus is caught up in the middle of this design." Percy also touched on how X-Force and Wolverine, which he's also writing, are coming to some climatic moments that have long been set up. "The XENO and Russia storylines are both about to pay out. It's been a slow burn," he explained. "Now everything is about to blow the hell up. What's happening in Wolverine is directly relevant to X-Force.

X-Force #37 features cover art by Joshua Cassara and Dean White and variant cover art by Alan Davis, David Curiel and Marco Mastrazzo. The issue is on sale now from Marvel.
