Marvel Comics is gearing up for the release of Wolverine #1 with special launch party giveaways and variants.

The highlight of the Wolverine Launch Party at local comic book stores is a Wolverine: Through the Years Primer, which will provide fans an opportunity to brush up Logan's extensive history, including his first appearance in Incredible Hulk #181, along with memorable stories like "Old Man Logan" and "Enemy of the State." A Wolverine 1 Party Variant will also be available by artist Rahzzah.

The new Wolverine series by writer Benjamin Percy and artists Adam Kubert and Viktor Bogdonavic will be Logan's first ongoing title since he died in Death of Wolverine. The comic will also have the distinction of being the first solo X-Men title to launch out of the Dawn of X publishing line.

"The first issue is oversized. I’m not sure I’m allowed to say just how long it is yet, but know that it contains two separate stories that are extremely different in tone," Percy explained in an interview with CBR. "One is a crime/adventure/mystery story that wrestles with memory and identity. The other is a horror/adventure story (with a dash of romance in it) that tackles questions about history and the toll and responsibility of immortality."

Wolverine #1, by Benjamin Percy, Adam Kubert and Victor Bogdonavic, goes on sale February 19 from Marvel Comics.
