Sponsored by Marvel Contest of Champions, YouTube channel The Hacksmith created a functioning Winter Soldier arm.

James Hobson of Hacksmith Industries shared a video that revealed his full process for bringing the Winter Soldier arm into reality. Hobson's design for the arm consisted of four layers, as well as a variety of materials, to maximize its strength.

In addition to the rubber, fiberglass matting, titanium and other substances required for the arm, Hobson used a Kevlar cut-resistant glove and a chain mail glove to protect his hand. "The combination of this Kevlar and chain mail means my hand is virtually indestructible," he said. With attention to the character's design, Hobson also worked to incorporate bulletproof elements into the costume.

Hobson developed his project with reference to the Winter Soldier's design in the Marvel Contest of Champions mobile game. The game premiered in 2014 and has become one of the most popular mobile fighting games. In addition to the large number of characters featured, Contest of Champions constantly introduces new events and storylines, pulling inspiration from both Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans can hope that the game will include elements from Disney+'s popular The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. Sebastian Stan returned as Bucky Barnes/ Winter Soldier in the series, a role he has played in the MCU since 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. When asked how long he plans to stay in the MCU, Stan said "It’s not up to me. I don’t make these decisions. As long as they’ll keep calling, I’m there."

Developed by Kabam, Marvel Contest of Champions is available on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices.
