The Marvel Universe Assembles for War of the Realms in 2019

Marvel has revealed more details on writer Jason Aaron, artist Russell Dauterman and colorist Matthew Wilson's upcoming 2019 event series, War of the Realms.

The event kicks off in April 2019 with six issues spanning a total of three months. Marvel also teased its scope will rival that of the universe-altering Secret Wars.

“I have been building towards War of the Realms for the entire duration of my Thor run. So we're talking six years and 80-something issues and counting,” Aaron said in a statement. “This is a war that covers the entire globe and involves the biggest heroes of the Marvel Universe, as you can see in this amazing promo piece by my Mighty Thor collaborators, Russell Dauterman and Matthew Wilson, who I'm so thrilled to be working with again on War of the Realms.”

The promotional art from Dauterman and Wilson features heroes from every corner of the Marvel Universe, including Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Venom, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Wolverine and Black Panther, fighting alongside Thor and his fellow Asgardians Odin, Frigga and Valkyrie. Fittingly, heroes like Captain America and Daredevil are displayed riding a winged horse and swinging an Asgardian sword, respectively.

War of the Realms by Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman and Matthew Wilson will arrive April 2019 from Marvel Comics.
