From rumors to reality, the buzz around Rachel McAdams possibly co-starring in Marvel Studio's upcoming live-action "Doctor Strange" continues to grow, with a new report claiming the studio wants the "True Detective" and "Mean Girls" star as the film's female lead.

Variety reports that sources claim McAdams is the top choice to star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming film. Although Variety also point out that it is currently unknown if an offer is at hand, McAdams herself recently told the LA Times that she was in early talks with the studio.

"It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all," she told the publication.

At this point, we just might need the all-seeing Eye of Agamotto to truly know the answer.

Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor, "Doctor Strange" conjures into theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
