WandaVision, a six-episode limited series, is slated to release on Disney+ in December 2020. The series was originally scheduled for release in 2021, but earlier this year Disney announced that the show was moving up on the calendar. Filming was delayed over the spring/summer due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with production resuming in July.

The series is set after the events of 2019's Avengers: Endgame. In a recent The New York Times interview, Olsen said the series will go deeper into the Scarlet Witch persona, which has not yet been done in the character's film appearances. In terms of Wanda's mental health, Olsen said, "She's always been a representation of mental health and illness in the comic book series, and her major role is handling that stigma within Marvel."

WandaVision will be the first of several Disney+ series to focus on supporting characters from the MCU films. The next series on the calendar is 2021's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. With the Black Widow film pushed to next year due to COVID-19, WandaVision will be the only Marvel Studios property released in 2020.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The limited series debuts on Disney+ in December.
