Capcom has confirmed that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will arrive September 19 with a story-mode trailer revealing eight new playable characters. It's all part of the new storyline which will focus on heroes from both universes dealing with the Infinity Stones being used by the combined threat of signature villains -- Marvel's Ultron and Capcom's Sigma.
Ultron was revealed as the game's main Marvel antagonist, along with Chun-Li (Street Fighter), Chris Redfield (Resident Evil), Strider Hiryu (Strider), Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Rocket Raccoon. They will join previously confirmed playable characters -- Ryu (Street Fighter), Mega Man X, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America, and Morrigan (Darkstalkers).
The game, the franchise's first in five years, can be pre-ordered from today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, and will include single-player Arcade, Training and Mission modes, as well as multi-player content.
It will be available in three editions:
- Standard Edition ($59.99): Pre-orders include the "Warrior Thor" and "Evil Ryu" premium costumes.
- Deluxe Edition ($89.99): Includes the "2017 Character Pass," which gives you access to six post-launch characters, the first being Sigma himself. Pre-orders include the "Warrior Thor" and "Evil Ryu" costumes, as well as the "Gladiator Hulk" and "Command Mission X' costumes.
- Collector’s Edition ($199.99): Includes four detailed, interlinking dioramas (Mega Man X, Chun-Li, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man) from TriForce, plus LED-powered Infinity Stones, and the Deluxe Edition of the game.
