Marvel has revealed Afua Richardson's variant cover for the upcoming Marvel's Voices: Indigenous Voices #1. The features the New Mutants' Dani Moonstar, aka Mirage, drawing her psionic bow. Afua Richardson is an award-winning artist who achieved great acclaim for her work on Black Panther: World of Wakanda.

The comic, due out on Nov. 18, is timed to coincide with Native American Heritage Month in the United States and will focus on Marvel's Indigenous characters, with art and storylines from some of the country's top Indigenous talent.

Danielle "Dani" Moonstar, created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, made her first appearance in 1982's The New Mutants, aka Marvel Graphic Novel #4, which introduced the eponymous team of young mutants into the Marvel universe. Dani is a member of the Cheyenne and possesses a variety of psionic and psychic abilities. Over the years, the character has been a member of both the X-Men and X-Force, in addition to the New Mutants.

Marvel's Voice: Indigenous Voices #1 is a follow-up to Marvel's Voices #1, a collection of essays and comics by the diverse creators in the comic world, which was released in February 2020. Marvel's Voices #1 was inspired by the Marvel podcast of the same name.

Written by Jeffrey Veregge, Rebecca Roanhorse, Darcie Little Badger and Stephen Graham Jones and illustrated by Veregge, Weshoyot Alvitre, Kyle Charles and David Cutler with a main cover by Jim Terry and Brian Reber and commentary by Taboo and Ben Jackendoff, Marvel's Voices: Indigenous Voices #1 goes on sale Nov. 18 from Marvel Comics.
