Upon his introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Vision was considered remarkable for the feats he displayed, something that hadn’t been shown in film. WandaVision has come a long way in humanizing him to an extent, which has given fans appreciation for his humane tendencies.

Since the MCU version is the most popular one in the mainstream, his capabilities have been considered in greater detail, although the comic book version's powers have also been accounted for. Some abilities are better than others, although not for the reasons one might think of. For this reason, it’s worth taking a look at where Vision's powers rank against each other.

10 Flight: his flying ability is a bit too basic to be considered a real game-changer

Vision Flight

Although it’s been useful more than a few times, the flying ability is a bit too basic to be considered as a real game-changer. Vision’s excellence in this regard comes from the speed that he blends in with his flight, allowing him to zoom toward his targets.

Flight is something that many other superheroes share, making it a common attribute that doesn’t have that stand-out quality. Still, Vision has displayed great aptitude in his flying skills, having no problems, unlike some other superheroes who do mess up here.

9 Nanobots Shapeshifting: While it sounds incredible, the execution is more or less around the same as his usual shapeshifting

Vision Nanobots Shapeshifting

This ability was first displayed in Avengers A.I. #1, where Vision revealed he was now comprised of nanobots that he could break down and essentially shapeshift to greater lengths, although it was dropped for the MCU. While it sounds incredible, the execution is more or less around the same as his usual shapeshifting.

Due to this, it’s a notch lower than his Synthezoid capabilities, as the nanobot feature is more of an informed attribute. Then again, it’s an ability that’s remarkable in general, so there’s no reason to consider it weak in any way as Vision has used the nanobots to his advantage.

8 Density Manipulation: As shown in Avengers #332, his density reached ten times greater than that of depleted uranium

Vision Density Manipulation

Vision can change his body density however he chooses, allowing him to be light as a feather or heavy enough to be impossible to fathom. He’s also been creative with this ability, using it underwater or in midair to bamboozle his opponents.

On some occasions, his visage has become so dense that he’s developed an exterior comparable to the toughness of a diamond. As shown in Avengers #332, his density reached ten times greater than that of depleted uranium.

7 Remote Interfacing: this ability is kept on the down-low in stories but it is really useful

Vision Remote Interfacing

Vision isn’t bound by the mental capacity of humans. He’s processed information so fast that his calculations have been basically instantaneous. He can tap into technology almost at will and be something of a hybrid between an organic being and an actual machine.

This has led to Vision sending messages across large distances within seconds, along with using technological advantages to turn the tide in battles. The only problem is that this ability is kept on the down-low in stories, other than which it’s really useful.

6 Intangibility: In the MCU, Hawkeye had a failed logic of fighting Vision’s incorporeal state, which didn’t work out so well

Vision Intangibility

While this falls under the density ability, Vision has rendered himself intangible/incorporeal so many times that it deserves a special mention. What sets this apart is the ease with which Vision has used this power, switching it between fights and when attempting to be stealthy.

He’s brought this ability out the most when driving his arm through an opponent, turning himself corporeal again, and ripping the baddies apart from the inside. In the MCU, Hawkeye had a failed logic of fighting Vision’s incorporeal state, which didn’t work out so well.

5 Worthiness: Vision made use of Mjolnir’s “well balanced” features to knock Ultron off of Thor

Vision Worthiness

This was something the MCU included on its own, although it worked wonders as Vision commanded the power of Thor alongside his own. Due to being worthy of Mjolnir, Vision made use of the hammer’s “well balanced” features to knock Ultron off of Thor.

In theory, he should have also been able to use the powers of lightning since Captain America did just that in Avengers: Endgame. Since the MCU treats being worthy as a power upgrade, it certainly qualifies under Vision’s powers and was vital in him gaining the Avengers’ trust.

4 Invulnerability: Vision is essentially immortal on his own as his android physiology grants him longevity

Vision has been shown to be free from humane boundaries such as aging and weakness, among others. Although powerful characters like Scarlet Witch can take him down, Vision is essentially immortal on his own as his android physiology grants him longevity.

Against most foes, Vision has no problems in combat since his durability is off the charts, being capable to take clean hits from the likes of Thor, Ultron, and more. Still, extremely powerful enemies like Thanos, along with magical opponents, have managed to pierce his invulnerability.

3 Super Strength: The fact that he’s killed many villains this way is proof that this power can’t be underestimated

Vision Punching Ultron

This is another power that is intrinsic to many superheroes, but that doesn’t disqualify its potential in any way. Due to Vision's ability to use his powers in tandem, he’s employed his super strength in a number of ways that have given him an edge.

His super strength has been used in midair, during super speed situations, while using energy blasts, and remote interfacing. The fact that he’s killed many villains this way is proof that super strength can’t be underestimated.

2 Energy Blasts: These are made of solar energy in the comics while in the MCU, the energy blasts come from the Mind Stone

Vision Energy Blasts

It might be a common piece of trivia about the character, but that doesn’t make these energy blasts any less effective. The source of this power has varied from the comics to the MCU, yet the sheer force that arrives with the blasts have remained largely the same.

These are made of solar energy in the comics, with the resulting impact being extremely destructive. In the MCU, the energy blasts come from the Mind Stone, making them the creation of an object that was there from the beginning of the universe.

1 Synthezoid Abilities: it has allowed him to have a conscience & to pursue the life he wants

Vision Synthezoid Abilities

It’s common for fans to question Scarlet Witch’s relationship with Vision, considering he’s an android. The easy answer is that he uses the power of being a Synthezoid (android is the colloquial term for him), as he manipulates the physiology of his body at will.

With the ability to modify his own cells, Vision can take up any shape he wants, including posing as a human. It’s the synthetic matter in his body that enables him to have human emotions as well, which has been his greatest asset as it has allowed him to have a conscience and to pursue the life he wants.
