When it comes to facing a purely hypothetical zombie apocalypse (as long as you don't believe zombie films, TV shows, literature, and comic books), it's always better to have the good guys at your side. But sometimes things don't exactly go your way, and all the heroes are already dead or otherwise occupied.

In that case, you'd have no choice but to form a team of villains and hope for the best. So if you ever find yourself in the midst of Marvel zombie apocalypse and every superhero is gone, be careful which villains you'll decide to include in your team.

10 Don't Want: The Lizard

The Lizard

The Lizard is one of Spider-Man's most iconic villains. His civil identity is Dr. Curt Connors, a brilliant scientist, who experimented with reptile DNA because he hoped he might replace his missing arm this way. Unfortunately for Dr. Connors, the research didn't quite pan out the way he might have imagined and he changed into the Lizard instead.

The Lizard is super strong and fast and could easily squash a whole horde of zombies to pieces. Unfortunately, he also has trouble controlling himself when he's in his lizard form and would present more danger to you than acceptable.

9 Want: Thanos

thanos from infinity

Thanos is not one to be trifled with and trusting him could turn against you very easily. But as long as you stay careful and watch his every step, you could definitely use having the Mad Titan on your team. Thanos' brutal strength is legendary and he can easily take down a large number of well-trained opponents without the need for back-up.

Let alone zombies, who probably wouldn't be as well-coordinated as actual fighters. Of course, there's also the possibility that Thanos could use the Infinity Gauntlet and erase the zombies from the world with one snap of his fingers.

8 Don't Want: Loki

Loki in Thor Dark World

Loki's powers are certainly impressive and it wouldn't hurt having at least one magic-user on your team. However, Loki himself simply can't be trusted. Unless he'd be somehow stranded on Earth and forced to fight against the zombies alongside you and other survivors, he'd most likely decide to leave and let you die.

Loki's powers include transforming himself into other forms that wouldn't be of much use when fighting zombies and controlling and subjugating weaker minds. If he could use his power to control minds on zombies, it would be a great help but Loki doesn't really do anything without having a good reason for it.

7 Want: Killmonger

Killmonger fights Black Panther in Marvel Comics

Whether to include Killmonger in your team was a difficult choice. He doesn't mind brutal violence and he's powerful enough, as he showed over and over again, both in the comics and in the relatively recent Black Panther film. Killmonger's powers have their origin in a sacred herb that provides him with enhanced strength and agility.

He could work well in a fight against the zombies, given enough opportunities to take them down with his strong fists and other forms of weapons. And as long as you don't have an actual rivalry with him, there are certainly Marvel villains who are more likely to stab you in the back... just because they can.

6 Don't Want: Red Skull

Red Skull isn't the type of guy one would want in his or her team fighting against the zombies. Sure, as long as you'd serve him, he'd probably try to keep you alive, but he could turn at any moment and decide to throw you under the bus, so to speak, so that he could save his own skin (and brain).

While he's strong, Red Skull himself also doesn't have extra impressive powers and unless he could provide you with an army of well-armed fighters at your disposal, he wouldn't possess much of a value as a member of the anti-zombie fighting team.

5 Want: Magneto

As far as Marvel comic book villains go, you could definitely do much worse than having Magneto on your team. Magneto is one of the villains who walk a line between heroism and villainy, depending on the circumstances and from which point of view you're judging his actions.

Either way, all of his former mistakes and bad deeds aside, Magneto certainly cares about those close to him, and if you were one of these people, he'd try to keep you safe. Plus, there must be creative ways he could use his powers to kill zombies. And finally, he already fought against zombies in the brilliant series Marvel Zombies.

4 Don't Want: Carnage

If zombies could feel fear, they'd certainly experience this emotion while looking at Carnage since this Spider-Man villain is downright terrifying. Even though he has a rich skillset at his disposal, having Carnage on your team would be like a death trap you had inadvertently set up for yourself.

Carnage is extremely fast, strong, and brutal, all of which makes him an ideal weapon against zombies. Unfortunately, he's also a crazy psychopath who's just as likely to turn against you as against the zombies themselves. So unless you'd find some way of controlling Carnage, it'd be for the best to leave him out of the fight.

3 Want: Venom

Eddie Brock as Venom grinning over a defeated Spider-Man.

Speaking of Carnage... Venom has very similar powers to Carnage. He might not be as strong but that doesn't really mean much, at least when you compare Venom's strength to the one of an ordinary human.

Venom is also fast and strong and brutal, but the comic book readers could have seen time and time again that if the right host is using Venom, the symbiote can stand on the side of good and temporarily switch from a villain to an (albeit somewhat reluctant) antihero. Plus, if the situation goes south, Venom is always fast enough to grab you and take you far away from the fight.

2 Don't Want: Galactus

This one doesn't really need that much explanation. Galactus is one of the most powerful cosmic beings in the whole of Marvel, and also one of the strongest villains ever. After all, you don't get the moniker the devourer of worlds by sitting on a park bench and twiddling your thumbs, do you?

Bringing Galactus to a fight against zombies would be a bit of an overkill, honestly, similar to using an actual gun against a spider (no, not Spider-Man, just a spider). It's difficult to imagine the situation in which Galactus would agree to fight in a team and help humans, so he's just going to have to sit this one out.

1 Want: Black Cat

Black Cat from Ultimate Marvel

Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat may not seem like the most obvious choice for a member of your team, but her presence would actually make a lot of sense if you think about it really hard. Black Cat is capable enough at hand-to-hand combat but that's not the biggest reason why she would present a valuable asset to you.

She has the power to influence luck and bring it in her favor, therefore yours as well, if you'd be fighting by her side. This way, if Lady Luck indeed stood by your side, you'd be pretty much guaranteed to win and defeat the zombies once and for all. And, of course, it'd be nice to have at least one lady on your team, if you're a woman.
