The world of Marvel Comics is full of some of the greatest minds in comic book history. Some of the characters in this extensive universe of stories are hailed as the smartest in multiple galaxies. One of those brilliant minds is none other than Doctor Victor Von Doom, who is said to be the smartest man on the planet Earth.
While everyone recognizes Doctor Doom as a great mind he actually isn't even close to being the smartest in the long-living comic world's history. There are many characters that heavily trump the Latverian ruler when it comes to his vast array of knowledge. This list will be taking a look at ten of those characters.
10 THANOS
The Mad Titan, the All-Father, Masterlord, The Outcast, Thanos goes by many names but each of these names always goes back to the same brilliant but insane man. While he may be a megalomaniac, Thanos is easily one of the most brilliant minds in the entirety of the Marvel Universe.
Thanos even looks up to the knowledge of Doom, due to him being a simple man that has unlocked so many secrets that constantly build upon his knowledge. However, Thanos has been through and seen more on a cosmic scale than Doom, leading to him being much smarter.
9 MAKER
If there is one man who has always been in competition with Victor Von Doom when it comes to brilliance it's his eternal rival Reed Richards. In this case, the Reed that is being referred to is the evil universe twin of Earth-616's Mister Fantastic, The Maker who is the Reed of the Ultimate Marvel universe.
One thing that makes Maker smarter than Doctor Doom is his advanced stretching ability. This version of Reed can even stretch his brain and therefore his knowledge to solve almost any problem. This makes him a literal human computer.
8 SISE-NEG
Born in the 31st Century, Sise-Neg is a sorcerer that wanted nothing more than to wield more mystic power than possible back when it was a common ability. This overload on power led to him being able to time-travel throughout history.
Sise-Neg not only has more mystical magic knowledge than Doom but more cosmic and historical as well due to his adventures and his thirst to become a literal God.
7 KANG
Kang the Conquerer is a character with some of the most complicated history in Marvel but two things are consistent when it comes to this time-traveling Master of Men. He is the son of Doom's oldest rival Reed Richards and he is much more brilliant than Doom.
Nathaniel Richards is obviously well-known for being the most potential-filled child in Marvel and his alternate reality self Kang takes that to a higher level with how many times he's been through time and around the cosmos.
6 HIGH EVOLUTIONARY
The High Evolutionary is one of the most advanced beings in the world of Marvel Comics. He is far above Doom's level for one significant reason.
His intellect far transcends beyond that of Earth and matters concerning it. He operates on a cosmic level and faces greater challenges than Doom. One thing that makes him special is his human origins that somewhat mirror Doom's.
5 THE LEADER
Although he isn't brought up nearly as much as Doctor Doom, The Leader is one of the greatest but most underrated minds of the Marvel Universe.
The Leader's power is literally his humongous gamma-charged brain that made him into one of the strongest minds in the world of Marvel.
4 M.O.D.O.K
The Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing may be played for a laugh most times that he shows up in the pages of Marvel nowadays but don't laugh too much. He's still a crazy powerful mind that is a threat to Earth.
M.O.D.O.K. is much like The Leader as his intelligence is his superpower. While he isn't given much time to shine or reach the feats of Doom due to his comedic design, he is still a high-ranking mind.
3 LOKI
Loki is yet another character that operates on an intellectual level far above that of Doom's.
Loki is a brilliant mind and even has technological knowledge. This is needed when it comes to his large scale manipulative plans.
2 ULTRON
To many, it may actually be a surprise that Ultron holds more knowledge of Doctor Doom but in a way, it cheats to accomplish this. The whole basis for Ultron's existence is that it is the next step in evolution.
Humans are flawed to Ultron because they have limitations. These limitations that humans have are not shared with Ultron due to it being a machine. This break on limitations is the largest reason there is that Ultron is a greater mind than Doctor Doom. It even has cosmic knowledge as seen in stories like "Annihilation: Conquest."
1 GALACTUS
Galactus is the eater of worlds and his larger than life existence puts him in a league far above that of Doctor Doom.
Galactus vastly outmatches all brilliant life on Earth, including Doctor Doom and Reed Richards. The gap behind him and those on the Earth can be compared to that of brilliant humans and primates.
