The Joker is one of the scariest villains in the history of comic books. He has tortured the residents of Gotham for years, hounding Batman at every turn. You cannot define The Caped Crusader without talking about the Joker as they are two sides of the same coin.

To be blunt, Batman is just one really bad day away from being the Joker - or The Batman Who Laughs at the very least. While Joker has forged some tenuous alliances in the DC Universe, the Marvel Universe would be a whole different experience. Some villains he would easily get along with, others would just be victims in waiting. Here are 5 Marvel villains Joker would love to fight with and 5 more he would hate.

10 TEAM UP: Kingpin

The Kingpin

When it comes to recognizing an opportunity, no one matches Wilson Fisk, AKA the Kingpin. He is the very definition of a criminal mastermind and isn't afraid to work with the darkest parts of his world to achieve his goals. He regularly employs Bullseye, after all, and there is something seriously wrong with that guy.

Joker and Kingpin would gravitate towards each other. Fisk would put Joker's talents and proclivities to good use, and Joker would love every second of it. Kingpin would have no shortage of fear and chaos to distribute, Joker being the perfect partner for every moment.

9 HATE: Bullseye

Speaking of the man who never misses, Joker and Bullseye would not like each other at all. It's just too much crazy in one place for that pairing to remotely come close to functioning at all. Bullseye is a straight up sociopath, murder and mercenary. He's basically a slightly more focused version of the Joker who kills for money instead of the pure joy of it.

Well, he still enjoys it a lot but he's in the game for the money. That would drive Joker nuts, who just wants see the fear in the eyes of everyone he kills, mostly for no reason. Any meeting between these two would end up in a hell of a fight.

8 TEAM UP: Sabretooth

sabretooth

They say Wolverine is the best there is at what he does. Sabretooth is damn good at it, too, and in this case, "it" is killing. Like the Joker, Sabretooth loves to kill people and truly enjoys bringing death to his enemies, friends and innocent people, depending on his mood that day. His enthusiasm for his work would attract the Joker to his side.

Sabretooth is powerful enough to kill almost anyone, but not showy enough to steal the spotlight from the Joker. In some ways, he's the perfect partner in crime for Joker as the duo could wreak havoc on the world in general and leave a trail of blood behind them, with Joker getting all the headlines.

7 HATE: Red Skull

Joker can tolerate a lot of things from his allies. Murder. Arson. Jaywalking. On the other hand, it's doubtful that he would be good with a Nazi or the worldview they espouse. Molded by Hitler himself, Red Skull was one of the greatest warriors for the Nazis in World War II and like Captain America he continues to fight in modern times.

Simply put, Joker wouldn't be interested in fighting for Skull's ideology on any level. He is a killer but he's also an equal opportunity killer that targets his victims regardless of their individual demographics. Red Skull would be a target before he would ever be an ally.

6 TEAM UP: Juggernaut

Nothing can stop the Juggernaut and the Joker is the last person who would ever want to. Juggernaut is not an outright mass murderer but he's not afraid of a little chaos and a lot of property destruction. Joker would absolutely love watching Juggernaut running clean through walls, buildings and Batmobiles.

The only thing Batman has in his utility belt to combat Juggernaut would be Superman, and that would be a tough fight even for the Man of Steel. Juggernaut would be fine with Joker's murderous leanings as his closest friend and partner-in-crime Black Tom is almost as unhinged as the Clown Prince of Crime.

5 HATE: Taskmaster

The villainous combat instructor with the ability to absorb and mimic any fighting style would drive the Joker nuts. Taskmaster, for all of his stolen skills, is an insufferable egomaniac who has way too much confidence in his own abilities.

Thing is, Joker would almost immediately be annoyed by him, inevitably leading to Joker betraying him once he was done using Taskmaster for whatever purpose he required. The really interesting part of this tandem is what would happen to Taskmaster if he tried to mimic the Joker in combat. It might do irreparable damage to his psyche.

4 TEAM UP: Mystique

A proficient fighter who can change her appearance into virtually anyone and is also willing to kill almost anyone. It's starting to look like Joker found himself a new best friend, let alone a new partner in crime. Mystique is one of the greatest threats the X-Men have ever faced, even though she occasionally fights for the side of the angels.

Joker could probably forgive her for that considering all the fun opportunities she brings to the table. He would be able to take his insane plans up 20 notches thanks to her mutant abilities, particularly when it comes to tormenting Batman mercilessly.

3 HATE: Enchantress

At first, you might think this was a match made in Heaven. Enchantress is an incredibly powerful Asgardian sorceress, using those abilities and her innate charms to bend her victims to her will. These are definitely attributes Joker could put to use. The problem for Joker is that she could easily use those attributes to manipulate him and that is not something the Joker could tolerate.

He would need to maintain control over her somehow, which is almost impossible. The other problem is that Enchantress is an Asgardian god, meaning that any plan Joker tries to pull off with her would attract Thor's attention. Joker does not want that.

2 TEAM UP: Norman Osborn

One of Joker's favorite, or at least most tolerated, teammates is Lex Luthor. He has the money and power to make many of the Joker's wildest dreams come true. Norman Osborn could do the same for Joker, then share in the insanity.

Norman is smart, powerful and rich. giving him almost unlimited resources to work with. On top of that, he is almost as deranged as Joker. Honestly, Joker would probably a huge fan of Norman spending time as an explosive pumpkin throwing goblin. Heck, he'd probably want a glider of his own and a shot at killing Gwen Stacy.

1 HATE: Doctor Doom

Body By Doom: 20 Weird Secrets About Dr. Doom's Body And Armor

Doctor Doom is everything Joker despises in life rolled into one person. Sure, he's got the resources to do whatever he wants but the man seeks control over Latveria, the world and the universe, if possible. However, Joker hates controlled situations. He thrives on chaos, and Doom would abhor that.

Joker also wouldn't be a fan of Doom's time with the Avengers. He hates the heroes, and a majority of the villains, in his universe and he sure wouldn't be a fan of Doom siding with his universe's heroes. Unfortunately for Joker, going up against Doom would go poorly as he is straight up outclassed by the Latverian. Doom is still Doom, after all.
