Venom fans will have to wait a little longer for the conclusion to the King in Black storyline.
A new report from Newsarama has confirmed that King in Black #5, which ends the miniseries, has been pushed back two weeks to a new release date of April 7. Following suit are Venom #34 -- which will also release on April 7 -- and Venom #200, which will now release on May 5 and marks the end of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's run on the Lethal Protector.
The delays also extend to the story's tie-in issues. The final issue of the King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes miniseries will now go on sale on April 7, while Fantastic Four #30 will go on sale on April 14. Marvel did not give a reason for the changes in scheduling.
King in Black marks the conclusion to Cates and Stegman's run on Venom and features Venom -- alongside the other heroes of the Marvel Universe -- battling the God of the Symbiotes, Knull. Both Cates and Stegman previously worked on the main Venom series as well as the Absolute Carnage miniseries in 2019 that set the stage for King in Black.
"We're really proud of this run," Cates said while discussing Venom #200 and how it marked the end of his and Stegman's time on Venom. "We just think this is it. This is the story and we're really, really proud of that story, and proud to see it continue. Let someone else have their chance to tell their story. This isn't a funeral, this is a celebration."
