Things are always chaotic in the lives of the X-Men, and death is something the team is all too familiar with. But an ominous cover and solicitation from Marvel's May 2019 solicitations tease that, once again, an X-Man will die this summer.
The cover of Uncanny X-Men # 17 treats fans to a somber scene with Cyclops and Wolverine standing over a grave facing in opposite directions. You can see them mourning the loss, with a pained look on Cyclops's face showing his sorrow. Completing the image, shadows adorn the background, adding to the haunting feeling of it all. And as the coffin lies in its' hole, fans can notice that the name of the grave's occupant is covered in darkness, leaving one to wonder just who it is that's died.

The cover for Uncanny X-Men #18 doesn't exactly bring feelings of warmth and cheer either, as Emma Frost sits in a chair as the new Black Queen of the longtime X-Men villains, the Hellfire Club. Also, Mystique can be seen standing to Emma's right in an all-white suit. If anything, it would imply that Frost may have something to do with the death of the unknown character
Given how Cyclops and Wolverine are putting together a new X-Men team consisting of such characters as Multiple Man, Banshee and Wolfsbane, the odds are pretty good that one of the members of this new team may die. Though there is also a slim chance this death will be permanent, and the X-Man will return at some point in the future. But for now, fans will have to wait until May to learn who it is that passes on.
