The excitement from fans grows every time the roster for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order expands. Earlier video games in the series included playable superheroes from all corners of the Marvel Universe; the 2006 original featured more than 22 playable characters, with many more making appearances throughout the game. In comparison, the upcoming reboot thus far features a whopping 35 characters upon release.
The newest gameplay trailer from E3 teases what those characters will be able to do in the game. We see Elektra devastating a group of hostile aliens, Ghost Rider blazing across the terrain on his motorcycle, and many more famous Marvel superheroes busting on to the scene. At the very end, the trailer also teases three sets of characters to be made available as DLC later on: Marvel Knights, X-Men and the Fantastic Four.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, developed by Team Ninja, will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive. The story is set in an entirely different universe from the game's predecessors and will focus on Earth's mightiest heroes (and then some) as they take on the forces of Thanos and his infamous henchmen, the Black Order. The major antagonists in the story will be joined by other villains such as M.O.D.O.K, Magneto, Doctor Octopus and Hela among others as shown in the trailer.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will release for the Switch on July 19, 2019.
