one of the biggest strengths of Disney+ is its library of Marvel content. Like Star Wars, the Marvel Universe draws an audience that might not otherwise be interested in a Disney streaming service. However, while Disney+'s Marvel selection is impressive, it's not complete.

While almost every Marvel film will eventually be available on the streaming service, television shows are a different story. Disney+ is in the strange position of hosting Marvel's most notorious series, Inhumans, while many other live-action shows are scattered across other platforms.

Blade: The Series (Tubi)

Available for free streaming on Tubi, 2006's Blade series picked up where the film trilogy left off. Rapper/actor Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones takes over the title role from Wesley Snipes, and the daywalker's allies from the films were replaced with new characters, Iraq War veteran Krista Starr (Jill Wagner) and weaponsmith Shen (Nelson Lee). This crusade against vampires only lasted one season, but fans who want to consume all of Blade's live-action content will still have to find their way to Tubi.

Mutant X (Tubi and Amazon Prime Video)

Mutant X isn't based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, which starred the X-Man Havok, or any other comic or characters. -- a lawsuit between X-Men rights holder Fox and Marvel made sure of that. The series, which ran from 2001-2004, followed a group of "New Mutants" (not those New Mutants) created through genetic engineering. All three seasons of Mutant X are streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi, but curious viewers should be warned that the series didn't get a proper conclusion and ends on a cliffhanger.

Agents of SHIELD (Netflix)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.Dcame to a close in 2020 after seven seasons, ending an era of Marvel television. Even though it was never fully integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the show was technically a part of the ever-expanding franchise at one point. MCU characters like Sif and Nick Fury made appearances, and the show even crossed over with Captain America: Winter Soldier. Netflix remains the show's streaming home, as it was throughout its run on ABC.

Netflix's Marvel Shows

Marvel Netflix Defenders

Netflix's stable of Marvel shows ended production in 2019, but fans can still watch the street-level adventures of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, the Punisher and Iron Fist on Netflix. Each character's solo outing and the mini-series The Defenders remain part of the streaming giant's catalog, and given that each project was produced in-house, it's hard to imagine them moving anytime soon.

Cloak & Dagger (Hulu)

Cloak and Dagger In Front Of A Concrete Wall

Cloak & Dagger met up with the Runaways in 2019, marking the rare occurrence of a crossover between streaming and cable; Cloak & Dagger aired on Freeform, which was home to other teen dramas like Pretty Little Liars. Now streaming on Hulu, this series had strong ties to the platform during its run, as its episodes would head to the service a few days after they aired on Freeform. That deal was part of a partnership between Freeform and Hulu, which are both owned by Disney.

Helstrom (Hulu)

Helstrom, the live-action adventures of the Son of Satan and his antihero sister Satana, never felt at home on Hulu, mostly because it was canceled before its first season finished airing. Produced by Marvel Television, the series was meant to launch a supernatural franchise under the "Adventure Into Fear" banner, but that didn't come to fruition because Marvel Studios took over the television side of the company, marking the end of a unique era of Marvel TV.

The Gifted (Hulu)

Disney+ is slowly building up its X-Men offerings, but the franchise's sole live-action television series, which ran for two seasons, is only available on Hulu. The Gifted was a joint production between Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox, and it was one of the latter's final X-Men projects. While it only had a casual connection to the X-Men films notoriously loose continuity, the show can still be appreciated as the only mutant adaptation to focus on minor characters like Polaris and the Stepford Cuckoos.

Editor's Note: This feature has been edited to reflect that Runaways is streaming on Disney+, as well as its original home, Hulu.
