Marvel has clarified its plan for one of the publisher's two offerings for this year's Free Comic Book Day. The issue will contain a "Civil War II" prelude story by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Jim Cheung, along with a story by "All-New, All-Different Avengers" writer Mark Waid and legendary artist Alan Davis, introducing an "All-New Wasp." CBR News has confirmed with Marvel that the latter story is the one hinted at on Thursday with the "Best Beware My Sting" teaser image.

"Civil War II" is scheduled as Marvel's major event of 2016, with Bendis joined on the main series by his "Invincible Iron Man" collaborator David Marquez. "Civil War II" #1 is scheduled to debut in June, and the story will see a philosophical divide between Iron Man and Captain Marvel; in contrast to the original "Civil War" comic book series of 2006, which pitted Iron Man against Captain America.

No further details have been released on the All-New Wasp, but the press release reads: "Be there as this mysterious new character makes their big debut! Are they friend or foe? How will their coming impact on the lives of the All-New, All-Different Avengers? The answers may surprise you, True Believer!"

The original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne, is a founding Avenger and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, first seen in 1963's "Tales to Astonish" and recently a main cast member in "Uncanny Avengers." The Wasp of the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe will by Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne and Hank Pym's daughter, as played by Evangeline Lilly.

This comic was initially listed as simply an "Avengers" issue, with no further details revealed. It's Marvel's "Gold" offering for FCBD 2016, with the "Silver" book currently listed as a "Captain America" release.

This year's Free Comic Book Day takes place on May 7.
