Marvel provided CBR with an exclusive preview of Thor #24, which celebrates 750 issues of the God of Thunder's adventures and coincides with his 60th anniversary. The issue features stories from such beloved creators as Donny Cates, Nic Klein, J. Michael Straczynski, Olivier Coipel, Walter Simonson, VC's Joe Sabino, Antonio Fabela, Matt Wilson and Al Ewing, among many others. One of the stories features Gorr the God Butcher together with Thor Odinson, Jane Foster/Thor and Beta Ray Bill.
The preview for Thor #24 opens with the funeral for Odin, who died during the most recent arc of the God of Thunder's solo book. Characters from all across the Marvel Universe come together to commemorate the former King of Asgard. From there, the book transitions into other stories. One of those other stories features a page on which Gorr the God Butcher skewers Thor with All-Black the Necrosword. Beta Ray Bill and Foster's Thor are located near them as this battle is taking place, but their lack of attention to what's going on indicates they're not really active participants in the scene. It's unclear at this time just what the context for the page is. However, it does feature a narration talking about the past and future of the God of Thunder.
Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Thor first appeared in 1962's Journey into Mystery #83. The character, who is based on the Norse god of the same name, wields the powerful hammer Mjolnir and features a number of enhanced abilities thanks to his Asgardian heritage. Over the years, Thor has been an important member of such teams as the Avengers. Chris Hemsworth currently plays the character in the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe.
