The upcoming Marvel Studios film The Eternals is apparently continuing its search for a gay lead.

According to That Hashtag Show, an Asian queer man is said to be pursued for the role of a man in the film known as "James," described as "intellectual, emotional, and has a strong sense of family." A name that's said to be at the top of Marvel's list of actors is Conrad Ricamora, who has been playing Oliver Hampton on the ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder since 2014.

Based on Jack Kirby's comics, the Eternals are a race of superpowered and near-immortal beings that fight a more monstrous race known as the Deviants. The Deviants were created by the Celestials, who have existed in the fringes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and became more prominent thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Silicon Valley and Twilight Zone actor Kumail Nanjiani would be attached to the film, along with Salt star Angelina Jolie.

Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, The Eternals is expected to be released in theaters in 2020.
