As with most children of famous villains, Sinthea Schmidt had a horrid start in life, almost being killed by her father after childbirth. Red Skull wanted an heir to his legacy, but when Sinthea was born he was furious she was a girl. Thankfully he was convinced not to, instead letting one of his followers raise her while he force-fed his warped views on the world.

Sin was given psionic powers and became a dangerous individual. She had always shown signs of evil, but in the Fear Itself storyline, Sin used the Hammer of Shadi to let the God of Fear loose on Washington D.C. and prove that she could do what her father never could. Of course, she failed, but that never stopped her from trying.
