WandaVision's writer and showrunner Jac Schaeffer will be sticking with Marvel for a little bit longer.

Marvel Studios and 20th Television has hired Schaeffer for a three-year deal where she will produce content for Disney's TV division, reported THR. This announcement comes a few months after WandaVision concluded its series run in March. No statements have been made yet on what projects Schaeffer will oversee.

Prior to working on WandaVision, Schaeffer's Marvel credits included an uncredited screenplay contribution to Captain Marvel and co-writing Black Widow, the latter of which was meant to be Marvel's first Phase 4 project but was delayed by over a year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with WandaVision taking its place. Her other credentials include directing the 2009 film TiMER and writing both the Frozen short Olaf's Frozen Adventure and 2019's The Hustle starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.

WandaVision followed the suburban exploits of former Avengers Wanda Maximoff and Vision as newlyweds, with each episode taking on the style and aesthetics of classic American TV sitcoms. It's gradually revealed that these "episodes" are extensions of Wanda's powers after she trapped the townspeople of Westview, New Jersey within a magical barrier and revived Vision, who was previously killed in Avengers: Infinity War.

Following WandaVision, Disney released its next major Marvel TV project The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which similarly covered Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes' lives after Avengers: Endgame. The next show, Loki, will release its first episode to Disney+ on June 9.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The full series is streaming on Disney+.
