Marvel Studios is beginning production on an as-yet-untitled project that is set in space.

According to the latest issue of Production Weekly, a trustworthy industry publication that tracks and chronicles films and series in various stages of development, Marvel Studios is beginning work on a new cosmic project. The entry is simply listed as, "Untitled Marvel Space Project" and sports the status of "Development." As can be expected, Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege is currently listed as the only producer attached to the project. Beyond its existence, nothing else is known about what this mysterious chapter in the MCU will entail.

Marvel Untitled Space Project Production Listing

While Marvel was initially hesitant to introduce its space-faring corner to its cinematic universe, the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 turned the tables. The MCU has steadily been embracing its cosmic elements, with films like Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel expanding its intergalactic boundaries. Beyond this untitled upcoming installment in the ever-growing on-screen universe, fans can also look forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Thor: Love and Thunder, I Am Groot and The Marvels, all of which are expected to further flesh out the galaxy.

I Am Groot is expected to land on Disney+ in 2022 while Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to arrive on 8 July. Fans can then look forward to The Marvels premiering on Feb. 17, 2023, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 23.
