It's been several months since Avengers: Endgame brought this era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a close, and yet there is still more to see. Attendees of Comic-Con International in San Diego back in July were treated to a showing of a special sizzle reel in Hall H. It traced the numerous films of the MCU, from Iron Man to Endgame, and seemed to tease things to come. Now, after several months, the clip has been made available online by a Twitter user.
The clip begins with a shot of Tony Stark building his very first suit before it throws snippets of every film that followed. We see the birth of each of the MCU's mightiest heroes, accompanied by monologues about the Avengers from Tony Stark and Vision. Finally, the clip ends with the official logo of the The Infinity Saga, though that particular image was released some time ago.
The clip captures a decade's worth of storytelling of storytelling through 23 films in just half a minute. If nothing else, it reminds fans that there is still a lot of life in this franchise, not just because of the box set that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted at some time ago, though no official announcement has yet been made on that front. In a way, thanks in part to the closing lines of Tony Stark's monologue, the clip also serves as a teaser for the next phase of the ever-expanding MCU, for which several films have already been announced.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
