Mark Ruffalo and Pedro Pascal, the actors who play Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the titular Mandalorian in the Disney+ Star Wars series, discussed who would win in a fight. On Twitter, a fan tagged the celebrities from the two franchises, asking what they thought would happen if their characters ever faced off. Ruffalo swiftly responded, writing, "[Star Wars] may have [Mark Hamill], [John Boyega], [James Earl Jones], and now a [Mandalorian] ([Pedro Pascal]) but we have a Hulk...The [Avengers] all the way." This is, of course, is a reference to Robert Downey Jr.'s line in 2012's The Avengers that Tony Stark quips to Loki.RELATED: Robert Downey Jr. Wears Doctor Strange's Cloak in Avengers BTS Video Clip

In response to this, Pascal tweeted back "pew pew to RRRRAAAAHRRRRR." This light-hearted dispute seemingly came to an end when Ruffalo countered with, "that sounds excessive," including a GIF of Ruffalo's more subdued Hulk from Avengers: Endgame.

Boyega even joined in, tweeting, "They have a hulk," along with a GIF of Denzel Washington smacking his hand on a table. Ruffalo amicably responded by writing, "But we mutually have powerful green characters!"

The Star Wars and Marvel franchises are both owned by Disney and are currently two of the highest-grossing film series of all-time. Notably, both came to major climaxes in 2019; Avengers: Endgame culminated 11 years worth of films and world-building in grand fashion, while Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concluded the Skywalker Saga which ended a story connecting eight previous films over three trilogies. Both franchises will continue in the form of film and television, and Disney+ is set to be a major conductor in this process as several shows are primed to be streamed on the platform. The Mandalorian is currently in its second season and Marvel Studios' WandaVision will premiere in January 2021.
