Marvel, Square Enix Join Forces on Avengers Game


After a tease yesterday urging fans to tune in for a special announcement, Marvel has revealed what the hubbub is all about. Marvel has teamed with video game developer Square Enix ("Final Fantasy") for a multi-year and multi-game partnership that will kick off with the Avengers Project.

Crystal Dynamics, the developers behind the "Tomb Raider" series, and Eidos-Montréal ("Deus Ex") are collaborating to create the game featuring Marvel heroes. The game's story will be original, and the info accompanying the video says the game will "introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come."
