With Sony and Marvel revealing that there is going to be a brand new Spider-Man game for the PS5, fans have been getting excited over what this could mean for the web-head. What's more, the sequel to the successful 2018 game will feature Mile Morales in the titular role.

While the original Spider-Man game featured a whole host of the web-slinger's rogues gallery, it also incorporated a few other villains from across the Marvel Universe, including even Taskmaster. With the Miles Morales game surely pitting him against some of Marvel's mightiest foes, there's plenty of great bad guys to choose from.

10 Doctor Octopus

Into The Spider-Verse was Miles Morales' big screen debut and the game could certainly learn a lot from that thrilling adventure. One of the best twists of the film was Doctor Olivia revealing herself to be Doc Ock.

While this version of the Spider-Man universe does already contain a Doctor Octopus, it would be interesting to see Olivia carry on the research and take on this mechanical weapon by herself.

9 Batroc The Leaper

Batroc

Batroc The Leaper is one of Marvel's more bizarre antagonists. While the character has appeared in plenty of comics and even in the MCU, he's yet to feature in a game like this.

His jumping abilities could be pretty interesting against Miles, but he also has the added advantage of possessing a great tactical mind. He might be a good c-list challenge for Morales to get started with.

8 Prowler

A Spider-Man villain that always sticks out is the Prowler, because of the personal connection with Miles. In many ways, his uncle is in fact his most important enemy. He's a thorn in his side throughout the many stages of his journey.

In the comics and even the film, Prowler has gone on a very interesting journey. He was killed off in Spider-Verse but the comics saw him take on the identity of the Iron-Spider. There's a lot of ideas to play with for this interpretation of the character.

7 Kangeroo

If Batroc seems bizarre, Kangeroo is a whole lot stranger, although perhaps even more interesting to fight off against. Asides from the odd Australian stereotypes, Kangeroo could be a fun side mission.

He'd be pretty easy to fight off against, but different enough that Miles would have to adapt to that style of combat. Kangeroo is perhaps one of the lowest thugs out there, which is why he would be so fun to play against.

6 Black Cat

Black Cat played a crucial role in the previous game and has always held a special place in the Spider-Man brand, thanks to her relationship with Peter Parker and her obsession with thieving.

The character isn't often pitched against Miles Morales but it might be an interesting way to contrast Miles and Peter's styles, especially since Miles might not be aware of the relationship Parker has with the criminal.

5 Kraven The Hunter

Kraven the Hunter crouching in a tree

It's almost criminal that Kraven the Hunter wasn't used in the previously Spider-Man game and it's perhaps more insulting that he's never made a live action debut on the big screen.

This Miles Morales game could completely change that, with Miles experiencing his own adventure with the mad hunter. Kraven has always been a compelling villain and perhaps he could seemingly kill of Peter with Miles trying to take over for him.

4 Electro

There's multiple versions of Electro across comics but Francine Frye is one not often used in comics or especially in video games. The ex-lover of the original Electro was gifted with the same power set.

It would be intriguing to see a new Electro on the scene, trying to find her way in the criminal world, as Miles does the same as he identifies what kind of Spider-Man he wants to be.

3 Goblin

The Green Goblin was heavily featured in the previous game, with Norman Osborn clearly showing that there were some villainous tendencies in his personality.

While his own transformation isn't complete, it could be interesting to see Miles pitted against his own Goblin from an alternate universe; a much more monstrous creature than many other Spidey villains.

2 Scorpia

Scorpia attacks with her tail stinger

Scorpia really is the female version of the Scorpion. Elaine Coll has her own dangerous suit that allows her to shoot energy blasts and take Spider-Man to the limits in combat.

The character could pick up where the last Scorpion left off, maybe even taking over his suit and trying to remove the heroes of New York in order to achieve her own masterful plans.

1 Jackal

The cloning saga is one of the most famous and certainly infamous in history. The character of Jackal was a key part of this narrative, as was Peter Parker though.

Miles Morales may be able to step into this story though and completely shift it. There's been clones of Peter in the past but it would be interesting to see how Miles deals with encountering different facets of his personality in this way.
