Marvel Comics has announced its second Free Comic Book Day title for 2019 will be FCBD Spider-Man/Venom #1 by the creative team of Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, Tom Taylor, Saladin Ahmed, and Cory Smith.

Tom Taylor (Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), and Cory Smith (Weapon HAmazing Spider-Man) will take Peter and Miles in an all-new direction with a story "that will build to one of Marvel’s most fantastic and epic tales later this year."

Then, the Venom creative team of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman will set the stage for what is being billed as "one of the most fearsome events in the Marvel Universe." A Marvel press release calls back to classic Spider-Man tales like Amazing Spider-Man #252, The Spectacular Spider-Man #90, Marvel Team-Up #141, no doubt offering clues to what their storyline could lead to. We're reminded that come the summer of 2019, "everyone is a target."

Amazing Spider-Man #252 and The Spectacular Spider-Man #90 follow the events of 1985's Secret Wars, which first introduced the Venom symbiote. Finally, Marvel Team-Up #141 unites the web-slinger with Daredevil and Black Widow against the Kingpin.

FCBD Spider-Man/Venom#1 by Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, Tom Taylor, Saladin Ahmed, and Cory Smith will be available for Free Comic Book Day 2019 on May 4.
