Marvel Snap has become a huge and popular success following its Beta and Early Access releases in mid to late 2022. The free-to-play game allows players to sync up their accounts and utilize cross-progression across mobile and PC, while exploring countless Marvel characters in card forms, each with their own perks and quirks.

Marvel Snap is a fun experience for everyone in collecting fan-favorite characters and seeing how different combinations work together. While there are so many cards to collect and use, certain characters appear more often than others, whether their abilities are unique and useful or they work well as a part of a team. Many of these should be present in every deck, and players should certainly consider including them.

10 Colossus Is The Reliable Constant That Can't Be Tampered With

Colossus Variant Cannot Be Destroyed In Marvel Snap

In all the chaos that Marvel Snap can throw up, sometimes it is just nice to have a card that won't be influenced by anything or anyone else. That card is Colossus. Colossus remains resolute and unfazed when locations or other cards seek to move, destroy or hinder it.

Costing just 2 Energy, Colossus provides 3 Power and can prove to be a vitally important card if multiple Power-reducing abilities or conditions are in place. It may not always be necessary to play it, but it is always worth having in the deck, just in case.

9 Squirrel Girl Is Perfect For Quickly Spreading Across All Three Lanes

Squirrel Girls Card Adds Squirrels In Marvel Snap

At face value, a 1 Energy 1 Power Squirrel Girl isn't the most enticing of cards, but with it adding Squirrels to the other locations, it can end up being the MVP of the entire match. However, for it to fully utilize its underdog potential, there need to be certain conditions met regarding supporting cards in the deck and the locations revealed in the game.

Squirrel Girl's ability is perfect for quickly getting a card in each lane. These Squirrels can then quickly fill up lanes to meet certain conditions, and can even be boosted by other cards, such as Ka-Zar, to be formidable team members. Locations like The Space Throne that only allow one card per player are the few drawbacks of using Squirrel Girl, but it is worth having her on standby regardless.

8 Elektra Eliminates Opposing 1-Cost Cards

Elektra In Marvel Snap

Plenty of other 1-Energy cards are not to be laughed at, with a value that far exceeds their cost. Ant-Man and Hawkeye provide boosts when players focus on the same lane; Nightcrawler provides the flexibility of moving to another location, while Korg and Rocket can actively hinder the opponent.

Yet it is Elektra whose value can often be overlooked. Many players put so much stock in their early-game that they play several cheap cards to fill up locations quickly, but Elektra can destroy a 1-Cost card instantly. This On Reveal ability means Elektra is worth saving beyond the first round to utilize it properly, but it can wipe out cards like Ant-Man and Hawkeye before their boosts can take hold.

7 With Enough Cards To Devour, Devil Dinosaur Can Run Rampant

Devil Dinosaur In Marvel Snap

Devil Dinosaur is one of the most feared cards in Marvel Snap, and for good reason. This Ongoing card costs 5 Energy but gains +2 Power for every card in the user's hand. Players can gear their early game around the later use of this card, as it can easily hit upwards of 10 Power.

Devil Dinosaur's danger also lies in combinations with the likes of Iron Man or Onslaught, which can double its Power output. The Devil Dinosaur can be used as a centerpiece to base an entire deck around, and is a must-have card for any Marvel Snap player.

6 Spider-Woman Can Halt An Opponent's Progress In An Instant

As 5-Energy cards to use in the penultimate round go, Spider-Woman is one of the best. Not only does she have 7 Power of her own, but her On Reveal ability will reduce each of the opposing cards by 1 Power. This can then be activated again if Odin is introduced in the next turn, meaning that the opposing side can potentially be reduced by 8 Power with the proper card application.

Even if Spider-Woman's ability is canceled out, she is still a strong card to have for the Power alone. There may not always be an ideal situation to use her in, but Spider-Woman is certainly worth having on standby just in case.

5 Blue Marvel Offers A Boost For Everyone

It is always vitally important to have at least one card in a deck that provides a boost of some kind, whether for itself or others. Ironheart, Ka-Zar, and Iron Man are useful examples, but Blue Marvel's +1 Power boost hit every teammate without limitations on number, quality, or lane.

Blue Marvel and Iron Man are expensive Power-boosting cards costing 5 Energy, but they can change the landscape of a game instantly. While Iron Man is useful in doubling the Power at its location, Blue Marvel's spread of Power-boosting across all locations is sometimes the right way to go for potentially achieving victory.

4 Jessica Jones Works Best If Left Alone

Jessica Jones In Marvel Snap

Jessica Jones is a useful card in that it activates its Power boost on a turn when the player is focusing on another lane, providing they adhere to On Reveal terms. Jessica Jones has 4 Power at base value, but if cards are placed in other lanes on the next turn, it gets an additional +4 Power.

This additional Power can be increased further, either by Ongoing boosts or by Odin triggering its ability again for another +4. There are clever combinations to be made when utilizing Jessica Jones; the player must just remember to use another lane on the following turn.

3 Enchantress & Cosmo Can Halt & Ruin An Opponent's Plans

Cosmo and Enchantress in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's abilities are split into Ongoing and On Reveal, distinguishing how the benefits are applied. Some cards can turn the tide in an instant when meeting certain conditions, and it doesn't always have to be through aiming for the highest Power possible.

Enchantress and Cosmo completely stop Ongoing and On Reveal abilities, respectively, from taking hold in their chosen lane. Applying either of these cards is a perfect way to control any match's middle or latter stages, even if their effects also restrict the user's own cards. Cosmo is cheaper as it costs 3 and has 3 Power, but Enchantress is worth its weight in gold, as it can stop boosting cards like Blue Marvel, Iron Man, and Ka-Zar from influencing other lanes.

2 Odin & Onslaught Can Help A Player Make A Late Push For Victory

In a similar vein to Enchantress and Cosmo, Onslaught and Odin are similar in their focus on Ongoing and On Reveal abilities, respectively. Both are end-game cards that cost 6 Energy, but can seriously impact the game at its climax. Onslaught doubles any Ongoing effects triggered within its chosen lane, meaning that boosting cards like Iron Man became even more valuable.

On the flip side, Odin's worth is in activating the On Reveal abilities of all other cards at its location. This allows for countless new opportunities and combinations, from triggering White Tiger to sending another Tiger to a location, or Spider-Woman reducing the opposing cards even further. Finding the right combination can help players forge the unlikeliest comebacks in the final round.

1 Hulk Is A No-Nonsense Power Play

While Marvel Snap has plenty of intricacies and clever abilities, sometimes brute strength is actually the answer. In typical Hulk fashion, he can smash home a victory in a specific lane, thanks to a no-nonsense +12 Power. Hulk is the perfect finishing card that won't be hindered by Enchantress or Cosmo, who restrict the usage of Ongoing and On Reveal abilities, respectively.

Additionally, Hulk can be enhanced further at locations that boost non-special cards, and can even be used multiple times in one game if its costs are reduced. The fact that the Gamma Lab location even turns all present cards into Hulk is testament to how powerful and feared this card is in Marvel Snap.
