Acclaimed novelist Maurene Goo (I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Somewhere Only We Know) and artist Takeshi Miyazawa (Ghost-SpiderMs. Marvel) are launching a new Silk ongoing series. Marvel Comics made the announcement Friday afternoon at C2E2, and revealed Cindy Moon will be working with J. Jonah Jameson as an investigative reporter while also battling a new cat demon villain named Kasha.

“The opportunity to write a Korean American super hero—a woman, no less—is one that I never thought would come my way,” Goo said in a statement. “I’m so excited to flex this writing muscle and to explore new stories for Silk—a character I love. Her fierceness and loyalty are qualities I understand and relate to, and I hope readers feel the same as she fights new foes and protects old friends.”

Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Cindy Moon (aka Silk) debuted in 2014's Amazing Spider-Man #4. She was revealed to have also been bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his amazing powers. However, unlike Peter, Cindy spent the next several years of her life secluded in a facility while she learned to control her powers.
