Shia LaBeouf was reportedly set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, prior to being entangled in a sexual battery lawsuit.

A new report from Variety claimed that Marvel Studios was eying LaBeouf for a potential superhero role after his critically acclaimed turn in Honey Boy. Similar reports had popped up over the summer, though ultimately a meeting never took place and discussions never ensued. LaBeouf was a fan-favorite choice to play Marc Spector/Moon Knight -- a role that may go to Star Wars alum Oscar Issac.

LaBeouf is being sued for sexual battery and assault by his former girlfriend, FKA twigs (real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett). FKA twigs reported multiple cases of sexual battery, assault and emotional distress commited by LaBeouf in the lawsuit. "I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel," LaBeouf told The New York Times, who originally broke the story.

In addition, LaBeouf was dropped from the cast of Olivia Wilde's current film Don't Worry Darling, with Harry Styles taking his place. While sources cited a scheduling conflict as the reasoning for the switch, Variety reported that LaBeouf clashed with cast and crew members alike. Wilde and LaBeouf's publicist declined to comment on the matter, as well as a representative from New Line Cinema.
