Fans have long wondered how and when mutants will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, it seems as though fans could get their first taste in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings."I have learned there is a character in Shang Chi who's a mutant in the comics. Wiz Kid," journalist Daniel Richtman tweeted. "No idea if he'll be a mutant in the film tho... I saw Wiz Kid on a grid a month ago actually but didn't make that connection until today when I learned he's actually a character from the comics, and a mutant no less."

Created by Louise Simonson and Jon Bogdanove, Takeshi Matsuya/Wiz Kid is a wheelchair-bound mutant with the ability to rearrange the shapes of various materials, including metal and plastic. First appearing in 1988's X-Terminators #1, the character is often portrayed as a technological genius.

Official plot details and a full character list for Shang-Chi haven't yet been released. However, Crazy Rich Asians' Michelle Yeoh was said to be in talks for the film, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Rosalind Chao has also reportedly joined the cast.
