New evidence suggests that Marvel's Secret Invasion Disney+ series is being produced under the working title "Jambalaya."

Rumors surrounding Secret Invasion's working title have been circulating since 2021, but a new report from the Halifax Courier stated that a Marvel project codenamed Jambalaya began on-location preparations in Halifax, England. The production has booked the landmark Piece Hall building for Jan. 24 - 31 and will shut down nearby streets beginning Jan. 21. According to the Courier, locals are already excited for the extra attention a Marvel Cinematic Universe production promises to bring.

Holly Lynch, Halifax's Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom's House of Commons, said, "I confess to being a massive Marvel geek and so the prospect of filming taking place here in Halifax is incredibly exciting!" Along with this new report are photos from the set, with production signs confirming the working title, Jambalaya.

However, Secret Invasion filming in Halifax has not been officially confirmed. "It's a great coup for this iconic venue," said Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust. "But we are unable to share any more details about the precise nature of the production at the moment." The production will see 260 cast and extras and 200 crew members descend on Halifax in the coming days.

Marvel Studios has a history of using working titles as placeholders for its films and television shows in an attempt to keep as much secrecy surrounding the projects as possible. Other recent working titles for the MCU include Stellar Vortex for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of MadnessDragonboat for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Goat Rodeo for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Disney+'s Secret Invasion entered early production in August 2021. The six-episode miniseries will be adapted from the 2008–2009 Marvel Comics event series of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales and Laura Martin, which told the story of shapeshifting Skrull aliens infiltrating Earth by impersonating humans. A previous report suggests that Secret Invasion will lean heavily into the MCU's world of spies and espionage, something that was teased in the mid-credits scene of WandaVision.

Samuel L. Jackson is slated to reprise his role as Nick Fury, along with Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos and Cobie Smulders as Maria HillSecret Invasion will also star Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke and Kingsley Ben-Adir as the lead villain. Jackson confirmed in October last year that filming on the miniseries had officially begun, which will mark the actor's return to the MCU.

Secret Invasion is expected to premiere in late 2022 on Disney+.
