Secret Invasion is currently filming in Halifax, England under the working title, "Jambalaya," with Marvel Studios securing access to the town's Piece Hall between Jan. 24 and 31. While the working title is intended to be secretive, fans were able to glean some details about the show when behind-the-scenes images and clips of the production made their way online. The glimpse indicated at least one scene will take place in Russia, as signs for the real-life holiday "National Unity Day" written in Russian were spotted on set.

Nick Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson confirmed that he started filming on the miniseries back in October of last year, posting on Instagram with the caption, "Time to get back in the groove. Happy to be back on the attack! #secretinvasion." Joining Jackson in Secret Invasion, Marvel recently confirmed that actor Cobie Smulders will return as Fury's confidante and former Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Maria Hill. Her appearance in the miniseries will mark the first time in several years Hill has shown up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the character was last seen during 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Staying true to its namesake, not many details are currently known about Secret Invasion, yet fans were able to speculate about the appearance of a certain alien race when the series' revealed its official logo late last year. Though Marvel already confirmed the series will follow the invasion of Earth by the shape-shifting Skrulls, the inclusion of a green and purple color scheme has some fans speculating if the colors on the logo could also suggest an appearance by the Phalanx, a largely unknown villain from the X-Men comics.

The six-episode Secret Invasion miniseries currently lacks a release date, though it is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ sometime later this year.
