Marvel's Runaways is a dynamic team in every sense of the word. However, due to the constant threat and changes they face, their team has fluctuated significantly over the years. That can make it difficult to track what they’re all up to, or to figure out who is the most powerful at any given time.

So we’ve gone ahead and done it for you. Here you’ll find members of the Runaways, both past and present, and how they rank against one another. You might notice that some characters aren’t on the list, but we had to draw the line somewhere, right?

10 Klara Prast

No offense to Klara, but somebody has to be on the bottom of the list. Klara is a good and kindhearted person, and her powers are fairly interesting. But being a Runaway was never the right fit for her — hence the reason why she left the team the minute she was given the opportunity.

Klara has the ability to talk to plants, which can be pretty useful at times. If it was an ability she wanted to learn how to push, it could have become something even more useful. However, Klara really did need a calmer and less...intense life.

9 Gertrude Yorkes

It kind of hurts to put Gert so low on the list, but the truth of the matter is that while she's a fascinating character (and arguably the glue that keeps the team together), she isn't exactly the most powerful team-member.

Gert comes from a family of time travelers. She's also psychically linked to a dinosaur (because, time travel) named Old Lace. Gert's one of the more emotional characters in the series — not afraid to tell everyone how she's feeling or to call people out.

8 Old Lace

Old Lace, as mentioned above, is a dinosaur. But she's more than that. She's been genetically engineered and is linked to Gert, though that link was later transferred to Chase — long story.

We don't know the cap of Old Lace's abilities — mostly because the people in control of her (Gert and Chase) aren't the type to give her kill orders or rougher missions. Not that we're complaining about this. We do know that Old Lace is decent protection, even if some horrible things have happened that she couldn't stop.

7 Alex Wilder

Alex Wilder was originally the natural leader to the Runaways —  he took charge when the rest of the Pride's children wouldn't. Granted, his initiative is also the downfall for his character, in more ways than one.

Alex is incredibly bright and really has a way with talking people around to seeing his side of things. But that doesn't exactly mean he's a powerful character. If you want to get technical (or direct), Alex doesn't  have any powers at all.

6 Chase Stein

Chase is one of those characters that starts out as easy to underestimate. He doesn't come off as all that bright, but his heart is in the right place, more or less. His character grows leaps and bounds during the series — and he slowly starts to lean into the technology that his family left behind.

Chase went from being the loose canon in the series to the rock of the team. That's the main reason he's been bumped up a point or two. That and the fact that he's always found a way to be a useful member of the team, no matter what was happening.

5 Xavin

Xavin was a bit of a controversial member, even towards the end of their plot arc. Xav is (or was?) a Super-Skrull who was betrothed to the one and only Karolina. They were willing to do everything to protect her, no matter the cost.

Xav had a lot of the abilities given to Super-Skrulls, from being able to take on different skins to being able to imitate different abilities (like their race is famous for). But as mentioned earlier, Xav seemed keen on using their gifts for the greater good.

4 Molly Hayes

Molly Hayes is the one mutant of the group, but she does a great job representing her people. She's also the youngest member on the team. Molly has the ability to be incredibly strong — we've seen her lift cars, toss people, and everything in between. The only major downside is that doing anything with her strength makes her very sleepy.

Molly is the most innocent Runaway, and the one that everyone else feels compelled to protect. Yet she's stepped up on more than one occasion to save her fellow teammates.

3 Victor Mancha

Victor Mancha is another member of the Runaways team that was added later in the series. In fact, he was originally introduced as a threat to the team. Yet once he became a member, he was nothing but loyal and supportive.

Victor is a cyborg, built from Ultron in part. His parentage has caused him no small amount of self-doubt, but it has also made him pretty useful. He's even been used in other teams and was even involved during Civil War (though he regrets what he did during that time).

2 Karolina Dean

Karolina Dean is the alien of the group (Xav was added later), and she has the adorable nickname of Lucy in the Sky thanks to her specific abilities. When her dampener bracelet is off, Lucy glows like a rainbow and has the ability to fly.

Kar is a Majesdanian, and she's without a doubt one of the most compassionate characters in the series. She's always trying to do what is right, or play mediator for the team. She's also got the most potential out of anyone — she just needs to learn how to properly utilize her powers.

1 Nico Minoru

Nico Minoru wielding purple magic

Nico is arguably one of the most popular characters in the series (based on all of her other appearances, at any rate) and the most powerful character as well. Nico is from a long line of dark wizards, but she's tried to turn her heritage into something of her own making.

Nico's strongest weapon is called the Staff of One. It gives her the ability to cast any spell — but only once. This has forced her to get rather creative in learning new spells and languages. But it's something she's gotten quite good at, as of late. It's also one of the reasons she balances out so many different teams. Nico can adapt to almost any situation, and if she can think of the right spell, she can respond accordingly.
