A new animated film is coming from Marvel Television, featuring a roster of new and old characters. Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors will be a new animation franchise starring diverse heroes--Spider-Gwen, Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Quake, Inferno, America Chavez, Patriot, Captain Marvel, and new Inhuman Exile.
The program will first launch with six digital shorts starring Spider-Gwen, or rather Ghost-Spider as she'll be referred to. The film will arrive later in 2018. "This feature [film] is an evolution of all of the great characters that people have come to love," Marvel Content Director Sana Amanat told Buzzfeed. "It came out of a desire to be able to tell stories about characters that we think are the next great heroes of the Marvel universe."
The voice cast includes a number of Marvel veterans as well as several newcomers. Kathreen Khavari, who voices Ms. Marvel in the animated series Avengers: Secret Wars, will return to her role here, as will Chloe Bennet with Quake. Milana Vantrub will be voicing Squirrel Girl, along with playing her in the unreleated New Warriors live action series. Dove Cameron is providing the voice of Spider-Gwen, while Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey will be voicing Inferno. Kamil McFadden is voicing Patriot, and Descendants star Booboo Stewart will provide the voice for Exile. Rounding out the cast is Kim Raver as Captain Marvel, Dee Baker as Tippy Toe the Squirrel and Lockjaw the Dog, and Ming-Na Wen as Hala.
