Marvel Rising's Secret Warriors team will undergo a bit of a shakeup in Chasing Ghosts, a 22-minute special that brings Ghost-Spider back to the franchise. Though it is unclear if Gwen Stacy will join the team full time, at least one member will have some doubts about his membership: Tyler Posey's Dante "Inferno" Pertuz.

"I think what the audience will see with these two new shorts/specials is just the team trying to figure it out, trying to figure out their chemistry, how their powers can work together for the greater good," Patriot actor Kamil McFadden told CBR at New York Comic Con 2018.

"And trying to figure out how to be a team," agreed Kathreen Khavari, who voices Ms. Marvel.

"Inferno doesn't really trust anybody, because he doesn't really trust himself because he's still trying to hone in on his powers and these special shorts kind of dive into the backstory of Inferno and you kind of see why he is the way he is, why he's a little angsty," Posey added. "He's troubled, but it's kind of for a reason. So, like he said, it's all about learning the dynamic between the team, who does best at what job and that's kind of how it is for Inferno. He's really trying to figure his position out in the team and whether or not he wants to be there, but deep down inside he knows he does. His instincts kind of steer him wrong sometimes."

Unlike the other characters, Inferno was introduced in Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, the franchise's 90-minute film. He ended up on the team purely by accident; he initially met his teammates when Exile chased him through a park where Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl were training. An Inhuman with fire-based abilities, Inferno has come to loathe his own powers, since they alienated him from his family. As such, it's not surprising he will struggle to find his place on the team. In parallel, Gwen Stacy's Ghost-Spider will also have to decide whether or not she's ready to be a team player.

Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts stars Dove Cameron as Ghost-Spider, Tyler Posey as Inferno, Chloe Bennet as Quake, Cierra Ramirez as America Chavez, Booboo Stewart as Exile, Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl, Kathreen Khavari as Ms. Marvel, Kamil McFadden as Patriot, Skai Jackson as Gloria Grant, Dee Bradley Baker as Lockjaw/Tippy-Toe, Steven Weber as Captain Stacy, Tara Strong as Mary Jane Watson, and Amanda C. Miller as Sheath. The animated special hits Marvel HQ on January 16.
