WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the first five issues of Alien, on sale from Marvel Comics now.

It's safe to say the crossover wars in the Alien and Predator franchises have left the fanbase divided. The movies, especially, didn't deliver as promised, which has many fans thinking it's better off if they're kept separate in this battle for intergalactic supremacy. However, with both properties under the Marvel banner since the Fox acquisition, depending on the route the new comic arcs take, Marvel's Alien has already given the Xenomorphs and its dark queen the perfect weapon to kill the Predators should they cross paths.

It remains to be seen if the Xenomorphs will be going after the Predators (aka the Yautja) as Marvel rolls out its stories, and not just because the film's writers, Jim and John Thomas, are suing Disney for the rights and control of the property. That said, should it be ironed out, this book (from Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Salvador Larroca, Guru-eFX and Clayton Cowles) has revealed a deadly queen, thanks to the exploits of Gabe at the Epsilon space station.

Marvel's Alien has an army to hunt Predators thanks to its Dark Queen

The veteran soldier's been having nightmares of this humanoid queen who seems cognizant, in control and truly sadistic. She looks like a hybrid of a human and alien, which may lean into what Gabe's employers at the Weyland-Yutani corporation have been doing with secret experiments. Come the fifth issue, though, things take a darker turn as he explains he got infected by a Facehugger years back, which connected him to the Xenomorphs' hive mind and their ultimate consciousness.

As he recalls the horrors, we see the queen with a ton of Xenomorph hybrids he can't explain. He's uncertain where they are in terms of homeworlds or from when, as he's aware he may be traversing through time.

These hybrids could once more be the results of projects the humans are running, which links to why they removed the alien from Gabe back then and made their own hybrid, which he does kill in this series. Either way, what's worth noting is how this book has confirmed the Xenomorphs are a purging force for when species get too powerful, ambitious and grow in size.

They're seeded out to kill them across all planets, with mankind being one that needs culling. It's scientific yet biblical in terms of population control, but this also means the Predators could be next on the radar.

They've had Predator-dogs and Super-Predators in the movies, as well as a vast array of tech and weapons over the years to make them the ultimate killers, so Gabe may well be foreshadowing the legion this queen wants to use. It'd easily defeat humanity, and more importantly, will be equal to the Yautja equal in what will certainly be an epic cosmic war should it ever occur.
