Today marks the one year anniversary of comic book legend Stan Lee's passing. Marvel Entertainment celebrated the life of Lee by posting an image featuring several of his most famous creations.The image shared on Twitter features a large drawing of Lee with several Marvel heroes surrounding him. Just a few of the characters shown include Spider-Man, Jean Grey, The Thing, The Hulk, Iron Man, Dr. Strange and many more. The image was posted with the caption, "Remembering Stan 'The Man' Lee: his legacy will live on in the Marvel Universe and the hearts of Marvel fans everywhere."
Stan Lee was born on December 28, 1922 and began his comic book career by becoming an assistant at Martin Goodman's Timely Comics. Lee would eventually team up with artist Jack Kirby to create The Fantastic Four for Marvel Comics in the early 1960s. Marvel Comics would go on to gain popularity with comics starring heroes such as Thor, the X-Men, Daredevil and many more.
Outside Marvel, Lee created many other popular properties, including a competition reality show for the Sci-Fi Channel called Who Wants to Be a Superhero? and a digital graphic novel called Stan Lee's God Woke. Lee has also had many cameo appearances throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other Marvel films.
