The following contains spoilers for The Variants #2, on sale now from Marvel.

Marvel's Daredevil/Matt Murdock has found himself in the middle of a dangerous love triangle after he and Jessica Jones kiss in The Variants #2

The Variants #2 comes from writer Gail Simone, artist Phil Noto and letterer VC's Cory Petit. In the issue, Jessica Jones sends Luke Cage, her husband, and their daughter Danielle away after receiving an ominous message suggesting Zebediah Killgrave may have left "time bombs" in his victim's brains. The interaction also comes after Jessica encounters two separate variants of herself, one of whom is her Captain America version, inside their apartment. Once Luke leaves, Jessica heads out to the rooftop later on in the evening and finds Daredevil waiting for her.

Marvel Puts Daredevil in a Dangerous Love Triangle

Jessica runs up to Matt and hugs him. "Thank you, God," Jessica says. "Thank you, Lord. They said, they said Daredevil was a woman now. I thought...I thought..." Matt tries to speak but Jessica cuts him off, saying, "Shut up. Don't -- don't say anything. Just let me breathe you in." She proceeds to kiss Matt before he cuts it off and asks her what she's doing. "We're not doing this, okay?" he tells Jessica. "What about Luke? For God's sake, what about you?" Jessica then pauses for a moment, tells Matt he needs to go away before she hurts him and then flies away.

The Variants #2 also contains a flashback sequence set in a diner four years ago. The moment shows Jessica and Tigra having breakfast and talking about Tigra's new job with A-Force. While Tigra encourages Jessica to leave her desk job and embrace her superhero roots, Jessica opts to remain in Hell's Kitchen. "I have one thing in my life that's right," she tells Tigra. "That fits. Luke. I have Luke." As Tigra stands up to leave, she briefly kisses Jessica on the lips, though it's not immediately clear if this is intended to be a strictly romantic gesture.
