Marvel has revealed its full collection of variant covers for Pride Month.
The covers -- illustrated by New X-Men artist Phil Jimenez -- spotlight the House of Ideas' LGBTQI+ heroes, including multiple members of the X-Men and the Guardians of the Galaxy's Moondragon. Jimenez will provide two variant covers for the Marvel Voices: Pride special, with one featuring America Chavez and the other featuring Young Avengers-turned-newlyweds Hulking and Wiccan.
"I’m always blown away at how different things are now in comics when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation than when I started, and Marvel’s dedication to that inclusion," Jimenez said about illustrating the variants. "As an (ahem!) older gay creator, I’m always thrilled by the opportunity to draw iconic LGBTQ+ characters from Marvel’s past and present, and grateful to contribute to Marvel’s future: one that truly represents the world — and the wonderful diversity of humanity — right outside your window." Jimenez is well known for his work on Amazing Spider-Man and illustrating Grant Morrison's New X-Men run. He has also illustrated Wonder Woman and Infinite Crisis for DC.
Marvel will celebrate Pride Month by launching Marvel's Voices: Pride #1 special, which is part of the Marvel's Voices anthology series designed to spotlight the publisher's more diverse hero and feature a wide range of creative talent. Marvel's Voices: Pride #1 will spotlight Marvel's LGBTQI+ creators, featuring LGBTQI+ creative talent.
