Making its debut in 2009, the Pet Avengers were a group who took on the mission of finding the Infinity Gems. The team, led by the Lockjaw and Throg, featured a cast of members that included Hairball, Lockheed, Redwing, Zabu, and Ms. Lion in her first appearance since her introduction in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

Since then, there have been dozens of pets introduced to the Marvel Universe that deserve a spot on a new team of Pet Avengers. Pets like Devil Dinosaur and Bats are not potential members as they’ve been associated with the team before, though they should appear in a new series.

10 Marv Is A Dog Mixed With A Raptor

Marv Spider-Woman Marvel

Introduced in the 2020 ongoing Spider-Woman series, Marv is one of several animal-dinosaur experiments done by Miriam Drew, a High Evolutionary clone of Jessica Drew’s mother. Though there are several notable experiments, including a triceratops-deer creature and rhino-tyrannosaurus rex, Marv is the true stand out.

As a dog and raptor mix, he is a useful companion. Marv has also proven himself worthy of joining the team, having partnered up with Spider-Woman. Outside of having normal dog and dinosaur powers, he also has tech that allows him to shoot lasers and use a tiny parachute.

9 Amazing Baby Is A Baby Warwolf

Aamzing Baby Marvel Rachel Summers

Warwolves are a humanoid-lupine mix that were first introduced alongside Mojo in the 1987 Excalibur Special Edition by Claremont, Davis, and Neary. Though they showed up a few more times, they were reintroduced in the 2019 Excalibur run.

With above-average strength, a moderate amount of intelligence, and the ability to shapeshift, Warwolves are strong, fierce fighters. After Excalibur’s hunt of Warwolf heads alongside Cullen Bloodstone, they find the Amazing Baby before bequeathing the tiny monster to Rachel Summers for care. A Krakoan entry to the Pet Avengers would be a nice touch in the Marvel Universe.

8 Doctor Shapiro Is An Iron Man-esque Cat

Doctor Shapiro Marvel Iron MAn

If there is one being that has been missing from the Pet Avengers, it has to be an Iron Man stand-in. Luckily, Doctor Shapiro fits that niche. As a cat with high intelligence, Doctor Shapiro has been involved with Tony Stark’s life and legacy for years, even being employed at Stark Unlimited.

The "doctor" part of his name is literal as Doctor Shapiro is a doctor in the field of superhuman biology. In addition to being hyper-intelligent, Doctor Shapiro also has a collar that allows him to speak and his very own mech suit that allows him to fight.

7 Old Lace Was Instrumental In The Runaways

Old Lace Runaways Marvel

The protective pet of the Runaways, Old Lace is a Deinonychus from the 87th century. She was created by the Yorkes as a protective overseer for their daughter, Gertrude, whose connection to Gert also includes a telepathic link that has been shown to be transferable.

Old Lace is a key member of the Runaways but has had several off-panel adventures of her own. She is a perfect candidate for a new Pet Avengers, though she has canonically eaten cats a number of times, so there could be some conflicts on the team.

6 Johnathan The Unstoppable Wolverine Is Strong

Jonathan the Unstoppable Wolverine Marvel

After Squirrel Girl rescued Jonathan from a bio lab where he was being experimented on, she brought him to Wolverine to communicate with him. After learning that wasn’t in Laura’s power set, Squirrel Girl saw the connection between Gabby and Jonathan, leaving him there.

Jonathan had a short time in comics before disappearing after the Krakoa events began, but in his time, he fought zombie bunnies, tried to eat Groot, and fought against Captain America. He is a fierce fighter and has the strength and skills that surpass his small size.

5 Sparky Has All The Powers Of Vision

Sparky Vision Marvel

A member of Vision’s created family introduced in Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta's Vision, and featured in WandaVision, Sparky is a lovable canine synthezoid. As a synthezoid, Sparky has similar abilities to the rest of his Vision family, including density manipulation, intangibility, and flight.

Sparky has had a troubled history, first having his brainwaves modeled after a neighbor’s dead pet, then being killed by Virginia Vision and Agatha Harkness, so it is time for a positive story for him. As a Vision has been a major character in several teams, including the Avengers, Champions, and Young Avengers, it makes sense to include one in the Pet Avengers.

4 Tippy Toe Is A Normal Squirrel With High Accolades

Tippy Toe and Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rising

After the death of Squirrel Girl’s original partner, Monkey Joe, she met and befriended Tippy Toe, a female squirrel from a horde of squirrels that battled Maelstrom. Tippy Toe was the lone survivor of the battle, making her the perfect sidekick.

Since then, Tippy Toe has assisted in battles against powerful foes like Doctor Doom, Galactus, Thanos, and MODOK. Though she is a regular squirrel, she has shown an ability to use tools and understand language. Tippy Toe is also an actual card-carrying member of the Avengers, of which not many pets have the distinction.

Lucky The Pizza Dog Hawkeye Marvel

Making his debut in Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye as a companion to both Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, Lucky the Pizza Dog started out as a dog owned by the Tracksuit Mafia. After helping Clint, he’d join the pair before being brought to the West Coast with Kate.

Jeff The Land Shark Marvel

A fan favorite pet introduced in the pages of 2019’s West Coast Avengers, Jeff the Land Shark has been the companion of Gwenpool, Quentin Quire, Elsa Bloodstone, and most recently, Deadpool. As one of the fastest embraced pet characters in Marvel, it took less than two years for him to get his own Infinity comic called Its Jeff.

As a land shark, he is amphibious, can burrow and swim fast, and has powerful teeth for biting enemies. A new Pet Avengers would only be bolstered by Jeff not only becoming a member, but also leading the team alongside Lockjaw and Throg.
