One thing that has become part of the main Marvel Universe over the years has been the inclusion of alternate universe versions of heroes becoming main stay heroes of the main 616 Marvel Universe. Thanks to multiple versions of Spider-Man, major crossover events that literally tear the multiverse apart, and time-travel, these characters end up becoming heroes of our main universe overall.

One such hero is Old Man Logan, the Wolverine of a world where the heroes lost and the villains destroyed what was left behind. A complex character, here are ten things to know about Old Man Logan.

10 Has A Wife And Family

This universe’s Wolverine was one of the last heroes to survive the massive uprising of villains, who ended the lives of almost every hero in the Marvel Universe. Dividing the world up into territories, the Wastelands were ruled by the Abomination, and later the Hulk. The Hulk and his cousin She-Hulk had a family together and created the Hulk Gang to terrorize the area.

Logan ended up finding and falling in love with a woman named Maureen, and together they build a life for themselves surviving on the land alongside their two children on their own farm, forced to pay rent to the Hulk Gang.

9 Works Job With Old Man Hawkeye

When Logan is low on rent for the Hulk Gang, he accepts a job from his old friend Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, who is now a blind smuggler. They battle many foes along the way, from a dinosaur infected by a symbiote to Moloids sinking entire cities and even Ashley Barton, who seeks to take over Las Vegas.

Eventually the job is revealed to be transporting super-soldier formula to a resistance group who want to restart the Avengers, but they are captured by Red Skull’s forces. Only Logan survives, and he takes out Red Skull permanently using Captain America’s shield.

8 Responsible For End Of X-Men

In his backstory to reveal the beginning of the end of the X-Men on his world, it is revealed that Wolverine himself was responsible for their lives being lost. It turns out that on the night of the uprising, a group of villains had attacked the mansion, and he was unable to find his teammates.

Wanting to protect the children, Wolverine fought alone and ended the lives of every villain he could find, including Bullseye. However when he was finished, the illusion fell and it was revealed the villains were actually his teammates, who Wolverine had been fooled into ending by the illusions of Mysterio.

7 Loses Family

After his job with Barton is finished and he gathers the money he is owed, he uses old Iron Man armor to fly home. However he discovers that he is too late, and the Hulk Gang has taken the lives of his wife and children while he was away, leaving them to be found by Logan as a warning.

With nothing left to loose, Logan unleashes his claws for the first time in decades, and ends the lives of the Hulk Gang until Old Man Banner shows up, who defeats and eats Logan. However Logan recovers inside the Hulk, and claws his way out, ending Banner for good.

6 Survives Battleworld

After the multiverse ends and Battleworld is created by God Emperor Doom in the multiverse event Secret Wars, Old Man Logan finds himself back in the wastelands, but senses that something is amiss. Traveling past the Wastelands, he is attacked by a Thor, one of several of the Thor Corps.

Landing in multiple lands across Battleworld, he fights Apocalypse and his Horsemen, Baron Stark and his land’s Thor, and even the legion of undead warriors and zombies in the Deadlands, until being rescued in the realm of Manhattan, where he leads a superhero rebellion against God Emperor Doom and his laws.

5 Tries Preventing His Future

After Battleworld, Old Man Logan wakes up in the main 616 Marvel Universe, and believes he has somehow traveled back in time to the past. Thinking this is the past of his universe, he seeks to stop the threats of his future before they arise, hoping to save the lives of not only everyone, but his family in particular.

After taking the life of a minor villain, he goes on a warpath trying to find Mysterio, who is responsible for him taking the X-Men’s lives in the future. After Captain America shows him this universe’s Logan in an adamantium statue, he realizes this is not his universe at all.

4 Helps The Silent Monk

After getting used to the new world he finds himself in, Logan’s reality begins to mix with this world as he comes into contact with the Silent Order. After Lady Deathstrike and her Reavers nearly destroyed a small town Logan was in, and nearly ending the life of the child version of Maureen, Logan goes hunting down the villainess.

However when he finds her, she is a prisoner and victim of the Silent Order, a group of ninjas and monks who Logan battles in the future of his world. After defeating them, he is attacked by the Silent Monk, a young kid who is telekinetic and telepathic, and whom Logan helps free from the Order’s control.

3 Defeats Dracula

When Old Man Logan is told by Cerebra that his longtime friend Jubilee has been missing, he discovers that she is in Romania. Around this time this world’s Jubilee is a vampire, and she becomes one of many vampires to come under the thrall and control of the vampire lord himself, Dracula.

Along with the Howling Commandos, Old Man Logan goes into battle with Dracula and his forces, and eventually Jubilee is able to fight his control long enough to throw Dracula to Logan, who impales and decapitates him. He then has Cerebra take Dracula’s head to the sun, where he won’t be able to regenerate.

2 Fought Maestro

One of Old Man Logan’s greatest battles came when an alternate universe and future version of the Hulk came to the 616 universe, bringing with him the remains of Old Man Logan’s universe’s Hulk Gang. Blaming Logan for the loss of their kin, the Hulk Gang follow Maestro, but eventually Logan defeats the Hulk Gang with help from Hawkeye and Cambria Banner, one of the few good Hulks of his universe.

Later Maestro reemerges, taking over a small Canadian town and becoming a warlord there. Logan, with his healing factor failing, fights Maestro to the end, taking his life and nearly losing his own in the process.

1 Finally Found Peace

With his healing factor failing, Old Man Logan decided to return to his universe and find peace at last. After deciding to stop Mysterio once and for all before leaving, Mysterio teams up with Neo-Hydra and Miss Sinister to attack the heroes, but later joins the Avengers when he learns they planned to use him and then end his life.

Faking his demise afterwards, Mysterio disappears, and Logan returns to his home with help from Forge. Once in his own world again, he takes the lives of Sabertooth and Mister Sinister, losing his life in the process as he finally left to join his family.
