Marvel's Nova is an impressive character, yet he isn't as well known as many of the other Marvel characters. Still, there's a solid chance fans will be seeing him in the future of the MCU, and that makes him worth talking about.

There is much to know about Richard Rider, some of which only the most dedicated fans would be able to list off the top of their heads. With that in mind, here are ten interesting facts that you might not have known about the dynamic character.

10 Superhuman Basics

Thanks to the Nova Force, Richard Ryder has been granted most of the basics surrounding superheroes. He's stronger, faster, and more durable than the average human – to an insane degree. He's capable of flying through space, taking serious damage, and so much more.

Other basic enhancements include increased agility and reflexes – both of which can prove to be extremely advantageous, especially when flying around at high speeds (or actively participating in a battle).

9 Unknown Limits

Nova also has superhuman stamina, which doesn't sound like much, but it really is. Thanks to this, he doesn't get tired as quickly. In fact, his stamina is theoretically limitless, or at least has yet to hit that limit.

Likewise, Nova doesn't really know the limits of his own strength. It's once again never really been tested. Though he is typically ranked on the higher end of the scale, for obvious reasons.

8 Insane Accuracy

The Worldmind is essentially a hyper-intelligent and sentient computer, one that has instant communication with Richard Rider. It's thanks to the Worldmind that Nova has what is basically superhuman accuracy.

That doesn't mean that he's simply a good shot. It means that he can be accurate within millimeters, even with large distances in play. It's extremely impressive, if a bit terrifying.

7 Withstanding The Power Of Galactus

Nova's superhuman durability was mentioned above, but a certain emphasis needs to be placed here. Nova can take some seriously impressive hits – of the highest scales Marvel comics can offer. Nova has been known to withstand a hit from Galactus himself.

Think about that for a minute. Galactus is generally considered to be on the higher end of power scales within the Marvel universe, and Nova has taken a direct hit with little to no damage. It's something worth bragging about.

6 Regenerative Healing Factor

Nova also has enhanced healing abilities, though those don't always come into play, thanks to the enhanced durability. It's good to know that should he take damage, he can heal from it (within reason).

There is a cap to the healing factor, however. He's not like Deadpool, and thus cannot regenerate limbs or anything like that, but his healing ability is still impressive. Yes, this is something that the series has proven to its readers.

5 Carrying the Worldmind

Worldmind

The Worldmind was never designed to reside within only one person. It was always meant to be spread out. The Worldmind hosts all of the knowledge of Xandar, and that comes with some implications about who would have access to it.

Nova has done an impressive job of protecting the Worldmind on the whole, and in turn, the Worldmind has made certain abilities available to Nova. It's a relationship that works both ways.

4 Accessing Any Network

One of the perks to having the Worldmind reside within Nova is his ability to access any network. Through the Worldmind, that is. The Worldmind has been known to hack computers with heavy security – including those on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network.

Theoretically, Nova (with the help of the Worldmind) could get into any network, given the right amount of time. It's actually kind of a terrifying thought.

3 Wielding All of the Nova Force

As well as hosting the Worldmind, there was a long period of time where Nova was the only one hosting the entirety of the Nova Force. Once again, this was never something that was supposed to happen.

The Nova Force was always meant to be spread out throughout an entire Nova Corps. While having it so concentrated gave Nova a few perks, it does bring with it higher risk as well. Making Nova's containment of the force all the more impressive.

2 Energy Generation

Nova

One thing that might surprise fans; Richard Rider can channel high levels of energy. More accurately, he can channel the Nova Force and turn it into extremely powerful blasts – as typically shown in some of his most iconic covers.

This ability also allows him to create hyperspace portals, which is the main reason he's able to get around so well. Granted, he needs the Worldmind to help him with the calculations.

1 Psi-Shields

Last, but not least, there's Nova's ability to create Psi-Shields. More accurately, the Worldmind creates the Psi-Shields in order to protect Nova (and thus itself). It's a form of psionic manipulation known to the Worldmind, and can be extremely powerful.
