Back in April, Marvel's New Warriors was ordered to series on Freeform. While it's still unclear when the project will go into production, a new report suggests that filming for the series will take place in Atlanta.

While Marvel Television hasn't officially commented on the filming location of New Warriors yet, a tweet from Atlanta Filming implies that the series will be the latest project from the House of Ideas to be filmed in the Georgia capital.

Atlanta has become something of a hot-spot for Marvel Studios as of late: Ant-ManCaptain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming all feature scenes shot in Atlanta.

If this report turns out to be true, it will mark the first significant update on the show's status since the full team roster was revealed. However, Freeform executive vice president Karey Burke has gone on the record to state that Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Shannon Purser (Stranger Things) are both being considered for the role of Squirrel Girl.

Although a release date has not yet been set, New Warriors is expected to air sometime in 2018 on Freeform alongside Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, which has also been ordered straight to series.
