An all-new character takes up the mantle of Spider-UK in the upcoming second issue of Marvel Comics' Edge of Spider-Verse.
Marvel has provided CBR with an official preview for Edge of Spider-Verse #2, which is slated to hit comic shops this coming Wednesday, Aug. 17. The comic's second story, "The Spider and the Dragon," serves to formally introduce readers to Zarina Zahari, the new Spider-UK. In the preview, Zarina is seen hanging out with her friend Zooey while on break for Ramadan. However, their video game time is cut short when a dragon attacks the mayor's press conference, forcing Zarina to spring into action.

"The Spider and the Dragon" is written by Ramzee, illustrated by Ruairí Coleman, colored by Brian Reber and lettered by Joe Caramagna. It was announced last month that this creative team would introduce Zarina Zahari as the new Spider-UK in Edge of Spider-Verse #2. The character was designed by Zoe Thorogood.
The original Spider-UK was William "Billy" Braddock of Earth-833. Created by Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez, Billy Braddock/Spider-UK coincidentally first appeared in 2014's Edge of Spider-Verse #2, which was also the first appearance of Spider-Gwen (who goes by Ghost-Spider these days). Billy was later killed off in 2018's Spider-Geddon #1.
The Marvel U Is Once Again on the Edge of Spider-Verse
In addition to Zarina Zahari's big debut, this year's Edge of Spider-Verse #2 features "Gig of Nightmares," a story starring the aforementioned Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider, which comes from writer Mallory Rosenthal, artist Ig Guara, colorist Rico Renzi and letterer Caramagna. Meanwhile, Shathra stars in "A Single Thread" by writer Dan Slott, penciler/inker Paco Medina, inker Walden Wong, colorist Reber and letterer Travis Lanham. Finally, cartoonist/letterer Chris Giarrusso closes things out with "Mini Marvels," starring Mini-Spider.
