It's been more than two years since we last saw Matt Murdock's solo adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Season 2 of Daredevil dropped on Netflix on March 18, 2016, a season that laid much of the groundwork for 2017's highly anticipated event series, The Defenders. But even if Matt had one of the leading threads of the superhero ensemble series, he is still the only Marvel character on Netflix whose solo seasons have been so far apart. Now, the wait is finally coming to an end, with Marvel recently confirming that Season 3 of Daredevil will drop sometime in 2018. While there is no official release date yet, the fact that there are only 4 months left in the year means we are looking at a very short window. With the release of Iron Fist Season 2 coming this weekend, Marvel is finally ready to start the marketing of its next big release: Daredevil Season 3.RELATED: Marvel’s Daredevil Confirmed For New York Comic ConOn Twitter, Marvel released the first promo teaser for the upcoming season. It doesn't offer any actual footage from the series, but it still gives us an idea of the driving force behind the story of Season 3, all while letting us the know that the marketing for Daredevil has finally kicked off.

The promo only lasts eight seconds, and features a missing ad for one Matt Murdock that goes undisturbed throughout the night. With this, it's clear that Marvel wants us asking "Where is Matt Murdock?" In the closing moments of The Defenders, Matt Murdock was still inside the Midland Circle building when it collapsed. Although his fellow superheroes believed him to be dead, Matt was shown to be secretly alive, being taken care of by his long-lost mother's coven.

Other than that, there is little known about the direction of the story of Season 3. We know that Wilson Fisk will be back, as will Matt's original black costume. There is also a strong rumor that classic Daredevil villain Bullseye will make his debut on the series. While there are still a lot of questions, we should find out a whole lot more -- perhaps even the release date -- during the series' panel at New York Comic Con this October.
