One of the most surprising announcements regarding Marvel Studios' extensive original programming on Disney+ was a television series starring Moon Knight.While details regarding the upcoming series' production have remained under wraps, entertainment news writer Daniel RPK has claimed the project will begin principal photography in August. Marvel Studios has not yet commented on the veracity of this report.

Created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32, Moon Knight is a former mercenary that was resurrected by Khonshu, the Ancient Egyptian God of Vengeance, to carry out bloody justice as his latest avatar on Earth.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that the planned series already has an unannounced showrunner, while Umbrella Academy writer and executive producer Jeremy Slater has been tapped to lead the writing team for the Disney+ series. No cast members have been announced, but the production is reportedly considering casting Daniel Radcliffe as the eponymous superhero. What's more, major Marvel supernatural characters Werewolf by Night and Dracula are both rumored to make appearances.

Moon Knight has yet to receive a release date, though Feige has claimed that it will be completed "towards the end of [2020]."
