In the Marvel comic books, Mr. Knight is one of multiple personalities that resides within Marc Spector, who is played in the upcoming Disney+ adaptation by Star Wars alum Oscar Isaac. Mr. Knight is essentially a more subdued version of Spector's main Moon Knight alter ego, eschewing over-the-top heroics in favor of down-to-Earth detective work and ditching his usual superhero costume for an all-white suit with a matching mask.

A former mercenary who was betrayed and left for dead by his comrades, Marc Spector was saved by Khonshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon. Khonshu chooses Marc to become the bearer of his powers on Earth, instructing him to protect the innocent as Moon Knight in order to make amends for his life of violence.

Marc Spector/Moon Knight suffers from Dissociative Identify Disorder (DID) and has three main alternate personalities in the comics: Steven Grant, Jake Lockley and, of course, Mr. Knight. Moon Knight's first official trailer, which dropped back in January, revealed that the show opens with its lead character living as Steven Grant, responding with confusion when he is addressed as "Marc." More recently, an official still from the series released in mid-February confirmed that Mr. Knight would factor into the show as well. (Whether or not Jake Lockley will make an appearance remains to be seen.)

In addition to the aforementioned Isaac, Moon Knight stars Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, Gaspard Ulliel as Anton Mogart/Midnight Man, May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly, Lucy Thackeray as Donna and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu. It is the fifth live-action Disney+ series set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye.
